In this day and age its tough enough to get a top tier QB to stay at your school let alone start. Then to have him live up to those expectations but I don't know man. Pop feels different. His skill set matched with Lane. It feels too perfect. I think he is exactly rhe kind of QB that you want now a days. I think 2 years of Leavitt and Pop takes over. Also not that I care but he will get his 5th star.

We had a down year if Leavitt stays 2 years.

If we are as good as we hope to be, it will go:
Leavitt
Longstreet
Pop

Not necessarily. He could have a good year, get a 2nd rd grade, and he'd have millions to return on the table.

Even before he committed, I wanted him instead of haven. Denny Duron knows how to develop QBs. And pop threw for over 800 yards in one game. And it wasn't against a team that was out of their league. They lost that game by a couple of points.

I am sure Lane said... "817 yds passing on 68 attempts, 8 passing TDs, 88 yds rushing, and 2 rushing TDs in one game? I'll take him!"

If this were any other year the whole fanbase would be freaking out about haven going to bama but we’re not.

I feel like we all have a weird quiet confidence that Pop is going to be the better player.

Pop has always been a board favorite on here. For good reason.

Haven might have better intangibles, but Pop has everything to be a really really good college QB. He will do really well under Lane

Yep, the tape says it all. The minority only sees the Baton Rouge, LA tag on Haven and freaks out

Ehh no Haven was a 5 star he has better tangibles ( height, speed, vertical jump). We are counting on the intangibles that pop has will make him a better player.

I think if BK or any other coach was donning the headset in Baton Rouge, most on here would still be pining for Haven. And that's the biggest factor, Pop fits the system way better than your 'prototype' QB.

There is too much “feelings” involved when it comes to recruiting. It’s called fandom. Everyone is Next, until they aren’t. We need less feelings in recruiting.

Like if Longstreet is any good, there is likelihood that Houston never throws meaningful passes at lsu. Albeit, Kiffin has done a great job at hoarding QBs vs what other coaches have been able to do.

Kelly had Pop above Haven in his evaluation and Lane feels the same. I understand why Lane prefers Pop, he excels in the type of offense he runs. I'm not so sure about Kelly's offense...he may have been going with his gut feeling choosing Pop.
Either way, Pop has " It " More i see his play, more of a believer I am!
And " It " is going to elevate the play of his offense

He had a really good performance at the Elite 11 quarterback camp.

I feel like Pop Houston is going to be an even better version of Trinidad Chambliss.

I think he feels different because him plus our coach feels different.

Russell Shepard felt different at QB too

Why you leave out Landon Clark? I think he could be a Trinidad Chambliss -type discovery.... he's cocky and can run and can throw the ball 65 yards...
