Followed it very closely since 2007 but letting my subscription run out after this year and will probably stop caring about it after that.

I bought the mags back in the day. I never paid for a computer subscription. "countdown to signing day" with Jamie Newberg on Sportssouth started the retarded, prima donna, live commitment, hats on the table crap and it exploded from there. flowed over to the all star games and the 4 letter network. social media has made it beyond silly. ill read volunteered info and check player bios, but it has definitely changed for the worse. I still fall for the nsd coverage and live commits if it involves us.

A two page thread on the recruiting board about how y'all no longer follow recruiting. Seems ironic.

I was never a recruiting junkie or major follower, but I'm completely turned off by the whole thing.

Definitely not going to get emotionally invested in some dumbass kid's histrionics.

I blame the adults as much as the kids. It should have never gotten to this point but too many absentee parents, shady coaches, handlers and hangers on, let these dumb fricks run wild.

You couldn't pay me to have to interact with most of these clowns and their handlers. Can you imagine how much it would suck to have to text teenagers for a living? Good thing it pays well.

I still check in to see who we have committed or the latest hearsay but I definitely don't follow every move like I used to. It's a shitshow now with kids trying to outdo each other's announcements and even worse the kids that change their mind every couple days. Oh and don't forget the top 25 list being cut down to the top 22 list then the top 15, then back to top 20. It's just ridiculous now.

I still follow info on commits and high targets but I quit watching commit announcements since Landon Collins rebuked us. I refuse to let an 18 yr old kid get me jacked up again like that.

For the most part. I don't feel like getting invested in all the year-round drama, but I do follow around NSD to see who ends up signing.

This is when I hung it up as well.

I used to follow year round up until about 2015. Last year I got excited around the tail end of the recruiting cycle (K'lavon and Phillips) but it's just not as exciting to me anymore. I think some of that has to do with age as well. The more I separate myself in age from the recruits, the less I actually care about the recruiting aspect of it. I support all of the players that sign to play for LSU but I'm not going to worry about what an 18 year old kid is doing throughout the year leading up to his signature.

I know I pay way too much attention to this stuff during the course of the year, but I follow it anyway.

I pretty much have. I used to constantly read every day about recruiting shite when I was in college, but when I got older and had more on my plate I just lost interest. I'll tune in in Feb.

I check on this board everyday for little things, but that's about it.

Off the top of my head I've watched highlight vids of 2018
WRs
Marshall, Chase, Amon Ra, Keys, Jason, Eagles
QBs
Fields (OMG why not us), Lawrence (real nice), Corrall
RBs
Curry (hell yes), Lingard (hell yes), Bolden (hell yes), White, Franklin, Carter, Valentine, St Julien, Joiner, Cook.

That may seem like a lot to some people (19 here, maybe 25 in total), but in years prior I was watching scores of offensive and defensive people. Many guys we didn't have a shot with either just to see the hype. I used to pay attention to top 10s and 5s, (never some attention whore with 15-25). interviews, little recruiting month updates on who committed where around college football, the opening, etc. This year I just haven't been in to it much at all.

Maybe it's because of last year when so many top guys left Louisiana to head to Bama. Maybe it's just the wishy washy kids, who have every right to be wishy washy, but doing it in public will always get you raked over the coals by fanbases. Maybe it's all the games some play just to one up somebody or stick it to somebody else (last minute commitment switches, lying to people about how committed you are to this or that team, committing one week decommitting again, etc).

I first got in it really lage compared to most on here. Late in the 2013 class when the DB who chose UCLA over us, who has now transfered to TAMU, is when I got my first taste of it. I was hooked on the 2014-2016 classes. I guess a lot of the stuff above got to me and I didn't look at recruiting as much in 2017, but I still followed and knew guys even enough to make decent mock classes. This year, I don't know most of the commits, haven't seen most of their films, and haven't really paid much attention at all on the national scale of different schools' classes and ranks.

It does tend to piss you off at some point. Kids commit then pull off then back on. Like you said wait till they sign.

It's too much drama and silliness to follow all year round
me too. I check the board every now and then. I used to know everything about our top targets now I treat it like the NBA; when it gets close to the end I pay attention. All the stuff in between IDGAF about

I follow the events like sparq and elite 11 and regional camps

I don't follow players putting out top 10 lists and hats on tables and jumping out of planes and commit/demcommit/recommit/open recruitment stuff.

Its all just too much. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy following it, especially instate targets. I'll watch our commits highlights and all but I've stopped watching the elite 11, opening, live announcement, etc crap.
