Surtain Jr
Marshall
Possibly, Chase and Joseph.

Curry won't start, or Provens, but likely will receive playing time each.

Traore will likely start a tackle spot if he performs well.

Laugh all yall want but I think Scott has a real shot to start. His size and athleticism is ridiculous. Wait and see what Aranda does with him. He is better than chiasson.

The consensus is that Terrace Marshall is good enough to win a starting job, especially since he’ll be with the team in the spring. If we get Patrick Surtain Jr, he’s also good enough to start as a true freshman. There’s several others that could see PT, but those would be the two freshmen I could see starting next year

Not sure if he’s going to start but I think my boy from Shreveport David Cotton aka “DC” is going to be in the rotation. D-Line should have a few sets of big boys ready for battle this year lol

Corner is the only spot that is likely. Either Goodrich or Surtain. There is one other guy who could muscle his way into a starting spot, and he is Chasen Hines.

Lol no Hines won't be starting that's for sure. The d line starters next year will be filthy, and I do not see Hines taking any of their spots.

You think Chase and Marshall are gonna take two receiver spots? I personally don't see that happening but if they do that means they're the real deal and I'm okay with that.

IMO that’s kind of how it works with any freshman for me. Most times if they play it is a good thing. You only hope that we they have to play they play like the freshman on the line this year did.

Don’t forget about the Texas Tech transfer Giles.

No way. I think Anderson, Sullivan, and Giles all have big years. Does Drake Davis finally put it together? I could see one of them getting playing time but would be shocked if either grabbed more snaps than the three listed.

Worth noting, both are coming off of significant injury.

I agree 100%. I was thinking oline. I know he wants to play defense, but I’ve watched his highlights, and I think he’d be a dominant offensive guard. His build is perfect, he has quick feet and great balance. He pulls beautifully, and he is as mean as you could want.

With the departures on the offensive line Hines will have a choice like Devin White, start now on offense, or be a role player on defense next year.

I don’t think 2 freshmen WRs start. Surtain for sure. Maybe Marshall.

We have a ton of wrs returning. Sullivan, Dillon, Davis start IMO.

You are correct about the injury question mark. However, I will say this. Having been involved the high school sports for more than 25 years I can honestly say I have never seen anyone quite like Marshall. When I first saw him in street clothes TWO years ago I thought he was a full grown adult man that was already playing in the NFL. I’m being completely serious. Doesn’t mean he will start but physically I have never seen anything like him at his age. Looked like Terrell Owens. On the field he was totally unstoppable. He could do just about anything. If he stays healthy and we get him the ball, I think he could possibly be one in a generation type player

Guess all you want, nobody was talking about Tyler Taylor last year and he played a good bit. There will always be some surprises during spring practice

Yes, and Taylor is probably next in line for mlb with Phillips staying at OLB.

He said freshmen... Giles and the two juco linemen aren’t freshmen

Obvious choices are Marshall and surtain. Last year people were all up in Stevens playing from day one. Got beat out, so don’t just think bc they’re 5 stars they earned a spot. Our defensive linemen will have to contribute next year.

I agree. His film was one of my favorites from this class. He's a mauler. I hope we put him on the O-Line.
