Does anybody have any news/updates about eligibility for the committed international basketball players? Are we awaiting court decisions for their eligibility?

Only thing I've seen on it is that all are expected to be eligible. There really wasn't an explanation other than that.

The NCAA hasn't been in any hurry to clear players using the updated guidance issued in May. Based on the new guidance:
Ruzik will be cleared at some point.
Niang just recently transitioned from developmental leagues to pro status. So, he has a lower hurdle to clear.
Santos and Dessert are questionable because they have had numerous seasons with contracts above the "actual and necessary expenses" compensation level, which could make them ineligible under the new guidance.
The NCAA hasn't ruled on anyone under the new guidance, so it's unclear how strictly it will enforce the "actual and necessary expenses" clause. They have dug in on 5-for-5 with a recent statement, and I would expect them to take a hardline stance on the new international guidance.
International student orientation at LSU is in two weeks. Classes start in less than a month, and practices start on the 29th. At this point, you would want your team on campus participating in offseason workouts.

Maybe he has? However, that doesn't relate to his clearance status. Also, it's recently been reported in the Euro press that his buyout has not been paid, but that is to be expected since he hasn't received a status update from the NCAA.

I was told on here that it's totally normal for rosters to not be final until August.

That's probably true, but I imagine the rosters are close to complete well before then. I imagine many teams may have 1 or 2 roster spots until August, but they have 10 or more already practicing. It will be very challenging to get the team to play like a team. I suppose they can figure it out during the non-conference schedule. By the way, I believe LSU's Fall classes begin on 24 AUG, and international orientation is on 14 AUG.

Many of these guys are pros. That means they are used to signing 1 year deals, changing teams, and first coming together as a team in training camp (about 1 months before the season starts). That's common in international basketball. The college transfers are all vets. This isn't a bunch of freshmen coming in, learning where their classes are, how to wake up on time to attend practice, training, etc. Pro leagues aren't having their players working out as a group right now and practicing together. Hell, most don't even have their rosters complete.
You are looking at this through an antiquate lens of an era of college basketball that doesn't exist anymore. That's because until recently, there has never been a time where college basketball "salaries" exceeded many international pro-salaries. That is what is enticing pro players to college basketball....not some unfulfilled dream of playing college basketball.
This is simply just another pro league. It's not some bygone era where guys from small towns bond over summer workouts and pizza parties to go from a rag-tag group of rascals to conference champions.

I can imagine pros coming in and playing great as individuals, but I think it is challenging to play within a new system as a team. Do most of the pro leagues turn over their entire roster and come together in a month?
