If you had to assume A&M has another lack luster season who could you see flipping?
I don't believe LSU was ever really in it for Cam Coleman but the other 4 yes.

The only one of those teams in the Aggy category is Florida. An incredibly underachieving program in a ridiculously talent rich state.
Clemson, LSU, Alabama, and TCU all have way more recent success. So hiccups vs expectations hit a little bit differently.

They bragging a little bit early eh? But yeah, not really impressed with this staff's recruiting personally. Lots of good talent they're bringing in but it's not enough on the high end.
DT is going to be a mess next year unless they find and get lucky with some amazing ones in the portal. Defensive side has no elite recruiters and it shows.

I think the recruiting is good enough to keep us in the top 10 of programs nationally. But if you really want to be in that conversation of top 5 program on an annual basis, then you need to land more high end talent I agree. Unfortunately, that probably will require a bigger investment and commitment to the NIL game, which is just not something our coaches seem to want to get involved in as far as recruiting high school athletes goes. I think Kelly wants to do more of a traditional recruiting pitch, which emphasizes development, academics, competing for championships, and then EARNING NIL opportunities based on on field performance. I think we need to do a bit more on NIL than they are doing but also just get some more closers on the staff in general. Frank, Sherman, and Hankton are not enough. I think Davis and Steeples are showing promise. But let’s get real, there’s some dead weight on the staff as far as recruiting goes.

I don't think our money is holding back. It's as you said they do not want to get involved with it likely because they don't want to deal with the problems TAMU has. I think that's a double-edged sword though because there's programs that stay in the top 5 like Georgia who do not have this problem and definitely pay their players.
BK has to realize it at some point. We keep getting blown out with a clear difference in talent when we do lose. FSU game was not close because they broke away in the second half as more talented teams tend to do when games are close. They were simply way more athletic and physical than us.

They suck because the only thing they care about is getting meaningless recruiting “wins” against LSU by overbidding like a motherfricker for kids who may or may not be good in college.
The fact that they just got their shite shoved in by a very subpar program on national TV in year 5 or so of Jimbo’s tenure, and they respond by patting themselves on the back about getting Blake Ivy and Weston Davis over LSU really tells you all you need to know. Loser school, loser culture, loser grads, and loser kids who are only concerned with getting the bag then leaving that shitshow.
That school and program is desperation and lil bro syndrome embodied. Did they just get the “money” that they try so hard to convince people is on par with Texas? Did they just start signing good recruits? No? Then why haven’t they won dick since 1934?

A$M can’t develop players for shite, but they are absolutely out recruiting us in this class whether it’s NIL related or not. Granted, most of their head to head wins are for kids in Texas, but we used to win our fair share of those. I’ll wait to see what happens on signing day, but the staff needs to close strong with this class.

It’s always hard to pull an out of state kid when the in state schools have been recruiting them hard for 2+ years. But with NIL and guaranteed money, it makes it even harder.

McKinley hurts the most because he's in state, pro LSU high school, and a position of need. LSU seemed to have a real shot and Davis. The others weren't "losses" IMO.

We aren’t flipping any of them. They had a horrible season last year and held on to the best of their players

I haven’t seen people on this board beating their chest and talking about recruiting wins over Alabama and UGA when LSU keeps a player from New Orleans or Lafayette.
That they are doing this over “wins” where guys from Texas stay in state shows how much they want to stat pad and have positive news.

I saw something on twitter last weekend that seemed relevant to this thread. LSU, Bama, and even UGA to a degree (not to mention Auburn and others) have seemingly all taken a step back defensively this season. It can be at least partially explained by A&M grabbing several of the last few years most talented DLs and making them absolutely irrelevant.

What’s the point of recruiting well if most of your class leaves? How many 4 and 5 stars from the last 2 years are still at A&M?
