Even when you've got the best of the best competing with each other there have to be losers. Some guys are just alphas and Bama tends to have their share. It's inevitable in this age of transfers/free agency that even schools like Bama, UGA, Clemson, OSU that generally don't fret losses will start to feel then in terms of depth. Most rosters will likely accelerate to a 3 year turnover for about 90% of the roster due to transfers, off field and the NFL. 4 year football players at the same school will become a thing of the past for the powers.

Sanders is a 2019 class UGA and Alabama battle for him. Pittman was at UGA and I bet he was part of his recruitment. Fast forward and Sanders went to a guy he knew. If Pittman was head coach somewhere else Sanders 9 out of 10 times would have gone where Pittman was.
Sanders tore ACL freshman year and then after he healed he had a bad car wreck and did damage to a leg. Not the same 5 star running back he was out of HS.

i think it might be chasing that NIL money as well. Bama cant offer match all their players so some are probaly testing the waters for bigger pay days

Can you imagine this, many thousands of kids switching teams/schools every year, from now on...?? You transfer to a new school, don't see the amount of playing time you want, and move on to a new school.... EVERY YEAR??

The portal should taper off a bit once the covid scholly limits expire. Still will be a shite show but shouldn't be quite as bad

I don't know. this feels to me like Saban processing some players so he can get even better ones out of the transfer portal to get to his 85 cap...

As the rule is now they only get the one time free transfer. If they transfer a second time then they have to sit out a year. As I said that’s the current rule and we know the NCAA changes them as much as I change my underwear. I don’t know how they can even keep up with the rules anymore.

The one-time transfer just holds until you graduate. Grad transfers can move around until their eligibility runs out.
The NCAA was toying with getting rid of the barriers and allowing unlimited transfers before the season, but they backed off on it and it wasn’t voted on. Hopefully someone talked some sense into them.
