2018 Defensive Back Recruiting Class (LSU v Bama)

This was brought up at the time, but seeing Josh Jobe out there still it made me re-look at the class on 247
LSU DBs Signed (1) - Kelvin Joseph (we know that story)
Bama DBs Signed (5) - Surtain, Josh Jobe, and co
Obviously important not to miss on classes like this if you want continued success.

I keep saying that everything has added up to be a perfect storm for us to completely suck this year. Dip year in recruiting. Covid. Opt outs. Bad defensive coordinator hire. Starting qb season ending injury. And all the other little things that have not gone our way whether they may be a fault of our own or not. Just chalk it up as a loss and look toward next year.

Look at the 2020 and 2021 classes vs the 2018 class and they aren't even in the same stratosphere.

Really unfortunate we couldn’t make it work with Kelvin Joseph. Watching a few Kentucky games this year he stands out. He would likely be on the field nearly every down for us.

Yep... we missed on the 2018 class because the media and LSU fan base was over the top anti orgeron.... the fan base..rather a delusional minority is bound and determined to do it again.

We have guys in the secondary that should not be playing at LSU. Stingley is the only legit guy that we have back there. I also like Ricks, and I cannot understand why he does not start. The rest of those guys should not be at LSU.

I mean, Flott hasn't been looking bad either lately. But it's ridiculous to have him trying to cover the best player in college football one on one. That's all on the coaches. It was way too easy for Alabama to get Smith one on one with Flott. In the first half, all they had to do was motion him into the slot. Ridiculous.
