Blame Les. 2018 is on him not O

Are you drunk? Miles was fired in September of 2016. That 2018 class was O's first recruiting class that was totally his. The 2017 class, which he signed, much of it was already committed with Miles but O kept it together.

We have guys in the secondary that should not be playing at LSU. Stingley is the only legit guy that we have back there. I also like Ricks, and I cannot understand why he does not start. The rest of those guys should not be at LSU.

Stingley, Flott, Ward, and Hampton are sophomores. Ricks is a freshman.

It’s easy to forget that because Stingley and Ricks both came in and started immediately. But those are 5-star guys - Stingley was the #3 overall player in the country and Ricks was #14. Doesn’t mean the other guys have no business playing for LSU, just that they need to develop.

Our CB group should be REALLY good next year, as long as Stingley doesn’t leave like Chase. Safety could be rough, though. If Stevens and Harris leave, we will likely need Hampton or Toles to step up big time, and Sage Ryan to contribute immediately.

As for Flott - he’s been playing a lot better the last couple of weeks. He got burned by Smith, but that was raw speed more than anything. Smith is elite, and there’s only one guy on our defense right now than can run with him one-on-one. Inexplicable why Flott was ever in single coverage vs. Smith.

Blame Les for everything instead of the moron running us into the ground right now. Always better to shift the focus especially to the guy that has been gone for years.

Dude STFU with the narrative that a coach who won a National championship and is recruiting top talent from all over the country to come play at LSU is running the program in the dirt. How dumb can you possibly be?

You people need to be kicked off these boards for talking about our coaching staff and players the way y’all do. It’s as if you’re the opposition, just trying to create chaos and destruction and it shouldn’t be allowed here. Some reasonable constructive criticism is fine. But saying that he’s a detriment to our future is way too far. This is the exact thing which happened after Troy/Miss State and really until last year. Even though Ed O improved every single year.

Please tell me a coach who would have done a better job with all of the circumstances we’ve dealt with this year? Please! Some of you people act as if this was just a normal year and that we had all the same opportunities we would have had in a normal season to prepare for these types of loses to a roster. Not only that but also losing key elements to your Defense and Offense from the year before.

Could we have done better job. Yes we could have but we would have had to have everything we replaced, be a success. That’s hard to do in a typical year much less a year like we’ve had. It’s clear that many of you don’t know how football is played or how important it is to have practices, especially after having to deal with all these changes. It was just too much for our players and probably our coaches to patch up.

Now I’m hearing that one of our best and most consistent coaches doesn’t know how to recruit decent players at his position on defense. Coach Raymond has a roll on this team as well. So by saying our DB recruiting and DB roster management sucks, it’s basically saying that he’s a terrible coach as well. I’m also hearing people say that Coach O had nothing to do with last years success but that this year’s misfortunes is the true Coach O. I’d bet that every coach in the SEC knows exactly how tough it is to play Coach O’s teams. We hung with a top 6 team in the country last week even with all the issues we’re dealing with.

Ed O will turn this around again, likes he’s done recently. The players love him. It’s some of our idiot fan base who are the problem. Not all but some are just horrible judges of football period. One good player or two can make a difference in a scheme. The defensive scheme has changed and now we need specific types of players to make the scheme play like it’s designed. We don’t have all those pieces at this time but we’ve been recruiting to another coaches scheme the last 3-4 years. Next year will improve but it will still have some growing pains. The year after that is when we’ll see the scheme work as designed. The offense also needs more new young blood to design plays and call the game. I love Coach E but maybe it’s time to hang it up and move into an administrations role.

If we go get a new DC we’ll still have growing pains. Football isn’t perfect. It takes time to build into something elite and play with perfection. We need to land the big recruits left on our boards and also need to recruit the OL like we have been for all other positions. If we do that we’ll be fine. This year is tough to watch but it isn’t all Ed O to blame. We have other coaches as well. None of them are lighting it up and I’m sorry but we didn’t have one of the best staffs in the country last year and all of a sudden now have the worst. It’s the circumstances which all contributed to this year, not one thing, coach, player or scheme. It’s the combination of it all. Change those outside circumstances and our football team will improve dramatically. So stop with the negative narratives about our program. It’s in good shape overall.

He was on the field fairly often in his one season while at LSU. So I think your point pretty much stands without even saying it.

Running us into the ground. You have to be the most ignorant person on the board. Please tell me last year didn’t happen? You are intellectually challenged.

And McGlothern was certainly a standout in the AA game he played in.
