You have to know in recruiting nothing is a done deal until the letter is in

I wasn’t sure if he had already left the Chargers. In that case it should be Orgeron on that plane.
I still haven’t figured out what exactly Austin Thomas brings to the table . I’ve wondered that even when he was at Lsu. How does a skinny nerdy looking kid that’s not played football ( assuming by looking at him) connect with these athletes to the point of signing them?

we've got to calm down. I don't like it either, but you don't have a class until they are signed.

overall, the big picture, we'll be fine.

you can't fault guys for recruiting for their new school. you don't have to like it, but it's business.

Kids leave for strange reasons sometimes, but all the facts line up in LSU’s favor here. We are playing in a really good bowl game for a 10 win season AND offer this kid a shot at immediate playing time. Add in the resume of our new OL Coach and the fact that Grimes is leaving on great terms for a promotion, and is still recruiting for us (do not underestimate this aspect of the transition), and everything but the potential last visit (if he goes) points to him sticking.

UT, on the other hand, may offer the playing time and a lot of talk, but they are coming off a losing season and an impossible to overlook arse whipping by Vandy. That’s a multi-year rebuild just getting started over there, and a JUCO guy isn’t going to be able to see that through. Hopefully he can see through whatever they tell him. LSU is the better spot for him, no matter how you spin it.

O isn’t going up there. He’s already used his visit to Traore. It’s Tommie Robinson. Hopefully he can get Cregg on the phone while he’s there and let them talk.

It's not dirty, it's the nature of the game. It's give and take. When Will Wade came to LSU, he brought some players with him that were VCU commits. Just means LSU must work a little harder to get him here than what they expected. I doubt he's the only player Thomas is trying to flip. He should be concentrating on those guy's who were committed to Tenn

That is easily one of the worst comparisons I've ever seen. Ones a Head coach and the other doesn't coach at all. Wades future and life depends on how his team performs, those kids committed to play for him. Obviously he will attempt to bring them with him. If a couple kids followed Grimes to BYU than that is completely fair.

The question that comes to my mind is what does Austin Thomas know about the Lsu situation with Canada and Orgeron? Sounds like Austin might be throwing some shade at Lsu, Orgeron, and Canada. This guy just committed last week, and now he is going to visit a dumpster fire headed for a rebuild when he only has 2 years to play?

I haven't read this whole thread so forgive me if I missed it. But, is Pruitt even going to be on campus? Isn't he still coaching at Bama? I'm not worried about a commit visiting a school without the new head coach even being present for that visit if that's the case.

I think it’s been said that Pruit will not be there and I’m not sure who their Oline coach is or if they even have one. So I guess he is going to hang out with the nerdy white kid that just left Lsu

This! Why TF would y'all be that concerned when a team doesn't even have it's Head Coach at the school yet?!?!? Doesn't make any sense to me, especially since this is the last weekend to official visit somewhere before he signs early. It's a free trip with some of his good friends from the school he's at now? So what? Would y'all not take a free trip with our friends if given the chance? This is nothing but a free ride.

Because it all started when Sam says he will sign his LOI to Tennessee... At least that's how it's worded.

Next you have Austin Thomas who is a great closer at Tennessee. He evaluated Traore and helped secure his commitment. Third his friends were just offered this week and you can assume it's an attempt to secure a package deal.

I don't get it though. Package deal with a week left til signing day? What the hell are you going to sell to them? You cleaned house and new coaches are coming in? What relationships can you build with just one day to visit. Just read that Saturday is the last day for face to face contact with recruits before the deadline period. What are they going to accomplish, especially if we go in home with him today. You're not gonna sway him away from us in 1 day. Nice try, Austin!

He started at Tennessee with Kiffin and moved to USC with him before being hired to LSU under miles...where are you getting any of that?

He started at Tennessee a year before Kiffin got there. He then went with Kiffin and Eaux to USC. He then went to LSU.

My post on the previous page of this thread states the Eaux - Thomas connection.
