Just roll with it man. I've got met / atmospheric science classes at the grad level and have been doing modeling/data analysis for years mostly focusing on long range stuff. The OT thinking is that if you are a Met then you are always wrong. If you are not a Met then you are an idiot and only a Met should comment on the weather, even though they are always wrong

P.S. - You can always get a good laugh by throwing a couple of big words out and watching the peanut gallery get all up in arms
