I just wish someone will tell us if we dodged a bullet or if its going to be worse than gustav. frick.

The two aren't mutually exclusive..... Can be both worse than Gustav (although I'm not saying it is) and dodged a bullet. For instance, it could have not been held back by dry air and hit BR (not make landfall) as a strong Cat 2/weak 3 as originally projected.

some people to have their sarcasm meter tuned.

I'm with you. There are some here who are obviously concern trolling big time. That one guy keeps posting "models" which allegedly predict winds of like 114 and 122 mph. I don't think anyone with any real meteorological know how has been posting up in here for quite awhile now.

That "model" is currently one of the primary models used by the NHC.

Not like he cherry picked the worst looking one. It's tier 1.

And everyone following the thread should know that it was only estimating wind speed based on pressure.

The main thing the model is used for is the track.

@JenHale504
Hurricane strength winds now hitting tip of Plaquemines Parish. Water level at top of levee for MS River. West Bank levee big concern too.

Heard the fat man who is in charge of Plaqemines Parish say it won't hold the surge.

The Entergy realtime outage map is fun to watch when it's not you getting hammered.

It's like fricking Christmas right now, all green and red. In two hours, it's going to be all red, like a murder scene.

Thank you fox news chick for showing me a one way sign that was slightly bent supposedly from the wind, when in all actuality it was probably already like that.

Biggest problem is that I may have underestimated our wine consumption by a bottle or two.
