Where in BR can I find cheesy 1970's wood panels like this for sale?

I looked at two of them and all they had was the kind that is primed or painted some sort of beige.

I'd be willing to bet you could find a number of 1960's - to 1970s built homes with the original owners still living in them that still have paneling walls.

FWIW, my parents house, that they bought new in 1959, came with this paneling. Sadly they just painted over it about 10 years ago,

Yep. One of my clients who bought their house new 1970 still has all original paneling and kitchen cabinets. It is all mint condition too

It's called Wainscoting. LINK

Maybe you'll have a little better luck finding it now that you know what it's called.

Wainscoting can be made of the cheap 70s fake wood paneling like the OP is asking about, but it doesn’t have to be.

Wainscoting is an architectural/design feature that only goes up to chair rail height on the wall and not a material type. High quality wainscoting is custom made onsite.

I replaced all my paneling with sheetrock after the flood but want some wood paneling for a wall or two in the shop/man cave area.

Was toying with the idea of a faux brick wall..

Try Habitat for Humanity home store in north baton rouge. They have them sometimes.
