I’ve got to do something about the mosquitoes at the house and want to give Talstar a try. But I have a large area and can’t imagine using a garden sprayer to do it all. Any other ways for large areas?

I bought a backpack fogger to combat my mosquito problems. Works great, I can be outside now and not get run in at dusk.

Most people that spray to get rid of mosquitoes around the house don't do the whole yard. Most I have seen is going out 5-6 ft from the house.

FWIW it works great. I sprayed around the outside of my house to get rid of routine pests from getting in the house and I am very happy with the results. I didn't go out into the yard at all but I have still seen a reduction in mosquitoes while on the back patio.

I plan to alternate between Talstar and Suspend.

That's the one I have. Easy to put together, starts every time, i use it as a blower after I mow the grass too. Pretty good piece of equipment and I really like being able to go outside. Now if I could get my neighbors stupid dogs to shut the hell up, I could really enjoy grilling..

Just keep in mind if you spray your entire yard that this stuff does not discriminate in the bugs it kills. It'll kill any and every bug, including ones vital to healthy soil, grass and plants.

The Orkin guy told me to go around and spray shrubs, bushes, and low hanging tree branches. He said that's where they hang out until dusk.

I bought a hand pump backpack sprayer from Harbor Freight and it works great. It comes with several tips, but I use the misting tip to really coat all the surfaces.

I find a regular pump sprayer works fine. Spray under the leaves of bushes etc and up against the house.

I use a Gilmour hose end sprayer, Gilmour No Mix Sprayer . You don't have to mix the chemical in advance for a limited number of gallons. You pour the concentrated chemical, like Talstar, in the bottle full strength and it draws just enough to create a proper concentration. You can spray without stopping until you've covered the ground you want to cover. Then just pour the remaining concentrate back into its bottle. Easy. Picked it up at Chastant Bros. in Lafayette.

Just ordered this one along with some Talstar-P and some Tekko P. I will not spray the entire yard, but we have 2 wooded acres and a creek in the back. I want to spray all the shrubs and tall grass around the creek and around my shed.

I was also sold when I read that pack can be a leafblower and spread dry products like lawn fertilizer as well.

I just spray my tree line real good, as well as the bottom of branches of the trees in my yard. I coat the walls and floor of my patio as well....HUGE reduction in just about all flying annoyances.

Gas Backpack sprayer. I don’t think you can use water base in thermal foggers.

Make sure you also add an IGR

Bifen i/t and Bifen xts is generic Talstar. Start by ordering this. XTS odd oils based and more concentrated.

I spray with a backpack sprayer. Use XTS outside since is oil based. Have hung a couple Spartans in the yard as well.

Saw first mosquitoes of the summer (in my yard) last week while grilling. Grabbed the thermacell lantern and no more mosquitoes.

I've always done granular for yard areas. Works great.
