What's on the agenda this week?

frick projects man. It never ends.
Last night I bushwhacked until dusk then cranked up the mower with the led lights and knocked out a quarter acre of grass in the dark. Nashville rain this summer has turned everything into giant weed farms.
I have a massive 3 tier bar shelf unit with behind the shelf lighting I assembled and I need to hang today but I'm waiting on my toggler wall anchors I ordered.
Man shed looks like crap I need to finish organizing and mounting my battery charger board to get everything off the random shelves.
Every single bush in my yard needs trimming and I have a ton of yard left to mow. I need a 10ft ladder to get to the tops of some of them.
I have a huge pile of cat 6a cables, keystones, punch down panels, 4 24 port switches a proxmox hypervisor sitting in my office halfway provisioned along with a mini pc I installed debian on to use as a display and about to haul everything across the state next week to my friend's house so I can crimp 100+ Ethernet runs and bring his house to life.
And of course I have a ton of shite posting to do on this site.
I'm tired boss.

I wish I had your simple chore list. I have been away for 2 weeks and my other half put a to-do list a mile long on our cork board in the kitchen...
Army always gets me into shite...

ETA last weekend I pulled the washer apart and replaced the dog ears, water pump, clutch and motor coupler.
When my wife walked in and saw the washer reduced to a bunch of ugly metal parts on the ground she made a face and said "if it's that broken we need a new one"
I was like I JUST DID EVERYTHING IT NEEDS TO RUN ANOTHER 30 YEARS!!

Building a console entry way table out of walnut and some shop furniture (mobile drill press stand) out of jointed and planed syp.
I'm excited about my next step, which is using my Veritas Large Router Plane. Anytime I can use that tool on a piece, I always look forward to it. I need to get the cheeks of a bridle joint shaved down to size and cleaned up for a perfect friction fit.

Some storm cleanup. We got hit with a pretty strong thunderstorm last night. I was happy to take the rain cause we needed it. Could’ve done without the 8 hour long power outage.
ETA: For the rest of the week I don’t have much. I have a few long term projects in mind for the both the lawn and garden, but I doubt I’ll start on any of them till we get some cooler weather.

I'm dreading getting back to it so that's why I'm on here. Too much yard. I guess I'll get off my arse

man I miss projects
ever since we decided we are moving, I've felt like I'm just waiting around
I always love planning and executing new projects, and with a 100 year old house, there was always a project, but now its just maintain everything and hope nothing major breaks before next spring
I have a few small things to do before we list next March/April, like touch up some paint, replace a busted tile, etc, but I don't want to do those now because my kids will just frick it up again
I have lots of projects in my head for the new house, but again, its just waiting till next summer
Be prepared for lots of threads next summer for either ideas or just bragging

[/img] That's what i was referring to. I cut the angled bridle joint on the stretchers just a touch proud on the cheeks with a dado stack on the table saw. Cleaning up and getting to final thickness with the router plane.
Good hand tools make the soul happy.

A lot of little things. Going to pull all the wrenches and other tools from 2 pegboards and organize their placement. Removed everything this morning. Find a parasitic drain on the lawn tractor. Sort through a bunch of car parts. Weed whack and edger on day 1 and tractor/zero turn cut on day 2. Install fan-driven transmission cooler on car with temp gauge, sensor and on/off switch. I learned not to create flat surfaces beyond the work benches because they become magnets for junk. A collapsible utility table works great for me, since I pack it up when done.

I have a good bit of that to do myself. I also have to pull the mulch back on all my plants in the yard (and there is a frickton of them) and put fertilizer on them. I am old AF so getting down on the ground to do that is no fun in the Florida heat
I have 8 potted plants that need to be repotted. Two dead plants in pots that have to be just pulled out then something else planted
My front porch is painted white and looks like someone took a big dump on it. I need to pressure wash it and the walkway to remove the mold that is growing there since we got all this rain
I have to drive to St Pete and pick up over 200 pounds of Squid wings, herring, sardines and chum to bring home, repack in the proper size I need for a trip then put in my bait freezer in the garage
I just got back from a charter trip this morning and Im about to clean the pool, do the chemicals and clean up my outdoor kitchen so I can cook some fish out there tonight.
Oh and when Im done with all that, I have 1450 spinnerbaits to finish painting, assemble, skirt and package

So true. I try to do as much by hand as I can now. Chopping mortises, cutting tenons, dovetails, and hand planing wood. So much better than machines.

Just finished making a drawer front that matches existing cypress cabinets (remodel added a drawer) right down to old nail holes and a perfect color match. Had to buy a raised panel bit to match existing drawers. Wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but it looks like it was original.
Putting in some sliding storage under the kitchen sink that fits around the piping. Not terribly pretty, but had some good 1/2” plywood available and it will be a big upgrade under there. Almost done.
Just added compost and chopped straw mulch to garden beds.

Replacing some deck boards, so demo and going to get the boards and hauling old ones off. Letting some paint on the cross boards dry before I put them down and paint. Unclogged the drain lines from the sunroof in the used car we got for the 16yo to drive, rain made a wet floor last week. They were clogged and now are not though, I sprayed the shite out of it and didn't see any water come in. Saturday is also bench press day, halfway done with that. Then I'll cook and eat as much as I want. Wife is making peach cobbler, I think I'm making steaks.

Thanks for the scoop and that info will be handy. Unfortunately I pulled everything off the boards. Once I place everything, I'll give it a shot and see what differs with my preferences.

I'm fricking tired. Yard done, bushwacking maybe 40%, had to get on a ladder to reach the tops of the giant shrubs in front of my house and when I went to collapse it caught my thumb in between the rungs it as it was sliding down and I had all the weight on that side of the ladder and the fricker locked into place with my thumb in there
I let loose a series of F bombs that you could hear from Mexico. Finally freed it (I was at least wearing gloves) and it's black and swollen at the base like something out of a damn cartoon.
Too old for this shite
ETA I polished off 8 16oz bottles of water. That's allot for me. I didn't even taste them going down. Just downed them all day.

I’m going with plastic plants/flowers anytime something dies from now on.
They make all sorts of stuff. You need UV resistant ones outside of course.
