Mature live oak, with a pretty extensive root system. I need to get it all ground, and ideally all the mulch it creates hauled off

Word of advice. If your price is good and the work is better, the H&G Board will give you more business than you can handle. Invest in this venture wisely!

Cmertz40 - I will have two stumps to grind as well. Bradford pear trees. I cut one down already and will cut another down in the future.

I’m going to bookmark this thread and get with you when I’m ready. Thanks!

Some Bradford pears are deceiving lot of them have a large root structure diameter of tree might be 18" but the raised root flare close to 4 foot. That's about the biggest ones I've done. I have one in my yard I'm planning to take down. You can see where it's split in the past. Pretty trees but once they get a canopy on them they'll split in a mild wind.

Not sure if it helps or not but I just got 2 quotes to have a big oak tree removed from my back yard in Luling. Both were $300-$400 additional for stump grinding.

Measure across the widest part of stump...add 8" to that measurement for the bell...multiply the sum of those numbers x 3...there is your basic cost number
Of course grinding out further and along the root runs will be an additional cost.
There are other factors that can add to the cost also.

My son had three bids for two stumps. One was about 12 inches and the other about 18.

Bids ranged from $200-400. He went with the low bid and the guy did a great job.
