What to spray to kill weeds but not Bermuda grass?

New home construction starting this fall and planted some Bermuda grass back in the spring. It’s come up well but there’s shite ton of weeds and stuff that has come up to. Any recommendations on what will kill the the other stuff but not harm the Bermuda? Also a question of timing. Spray now or wait til fall?

Celsius. Spray it now. Go ahead and get a pre em for the fall. I like Specticle but it is expensive. Simazine is another good one for the fall.

Is Celsius safe on centipede? I have Bermuda but neighbor has centipede. Don’t want to overspray and kill his stuff.

Yes. It is safe on centipede. Look in my post history for the celsius fill chart.

As soon as I get a chance (weather permitting) I'm spraying Celsius on my Bermuda and then in a few weeks I'll be putting down Barricade for a pre-emergent.
Does the board have any issues with that combination? Assume Celsius needs a surfactant?

Good combo.
Yes use a surfactant.
Timing of pre-emerg - right before soil temps cool to 70 F, whenever that might be in Huntsville. That would be late Sept-mid Oct in BR.

I have this website bookmarked so I figured I’d add it here. You can put in your location and it’ll give you your areas soil temps.

ETA: Barricade is prodiamine, right? I recently bought the 5lbs container of Prodiamine 65 WDG in preparation for a fall application.
ETA2: I feel like we should have a stickied thread on this board that just says BUY CELSIUS.
This is my second year using it. I have a mostly St Aug lawn with some centipede mixed in the front corner of my property. I did a broadcast application about 3 weeks ago. It stunted the lawn pretty good and yellowed, but it has almost fully greened back up and it smoked a lot of the weeds. Still have some lespedeza and VBW that I will spot spray again in a couple of weeks. They took a hit, but will need to be finished off.

So if I use Celsius now, would I need something else with it?

MSMA

My kind of got to about weeds: did you spray Celsius? Yes!! Did you spray it again? Yes!! Well then it’s probably Dallisgrass.

MSMA can be sprayed during growing season. May turn it a tad brown but will green up like it was fertilized. Spray a pre emerge during dormant time to help suppress. I have also sprayed a light dose of roundup to kill grass in Bermuda. I used all chemicals I used in sugarcane fields. I know it’s a bitch to kill in fields so it’s easy to grow in yard a hard to kill it with those chemicals. Celsius will kill Virginia Buttonweed issues that will arise.

MSMA user here as well. I don’t take care of my own lawn, but I spot spray with MSMA between applications from my lawn guy.

Why are people suggesting msma and there is no indication of what’s weeds are present? Msma isn’t labeled for residential turf and isnt needed for any weed other that torpedo and dallis.

That stuff works wonders on crabgrass.
