I’ve never seen one with Spanish Moss hanging from it. Beautiful.

Some get them and I’ve always heard them referred to as swamp myrtles. It is I believe lichen and if it gets to heavy you can remove some. This is not the same as the moss balls.

I don’t know what causes it but around me it is sought out and I really like the look.

They probably just transplant/hung it on the trees from somewhere else.

If your car isnt parked under one, I dont see the problem.

Unless you are a psycho that cant have flowers on your lawn for any period of time.

It's a nice one, one that hasn't been crape murdered.

If you leave them growing out in your yard, they can become quite large and provide a good bit of shade.

I just laughed and walked away from the power company white guys a year or so ago. The Mexican crew that went through a few years earlier understood and left them alone.

Sure the line of crepe myrtles on both sides of the driveway were right under the power line and only about 2 feet from touching the line...Grandmother planted them there 20 years before the power line was installed! The trees are 70 years old, they ain't getting any taller.

Just be forewarned, you’ll be cutting crape myrtle shoots for the next decade from those stumps and roots - I speak from personal experience and my stumps were ground up.

Yep your right - the herbicide ole Bama Harvey Updike killed Auburn’s large oak trees at Toomers Corner.
