And how do you kill it?

Thanks!

Is that Dove Weed?
If so, it’s one of the tougher ones to get rid of.

After researching, I think you might be right. Looks like a PITA

Clegg’s Cocktail should take care of it right now before it gets above 85°

Other than that, use Celsius.

I’d like a verification on the ID though…

Pull some out and take a picture separate from the grass. Also a close up of the leaf.

I have some in my yard. Very small stem comes up and makes a tiny red flower. Seed looks like a miniature beggar lice seed. Will mat up and choke out st Aug in areas it doesn’t do well.

ETA I have had success knocking it back with the cocktail, and weed b gon. But I’d like to know what the hell it is as well.

I think that’s Japanese stilt grass. Aka Japan grass.

Hard to tell from the pic. Both iNaturalist and Lens suggest a dayflower or dew flower species. I don't think it is dove weed or buttonweed. Dayflower will creep like that, and even climb if given the chance.

Looks like basketgrass. If so, there is No Selective Herbicide ! This weed loves shade - you have to pull it out or kill everything and start over !

Yep, believe that's the correct ID. I have that stuff in parts of my yard. Not easy to get rid of.

Much thanks for all of the input. If anything, it's amazing how many weeds all look alike

It is usually the bloom that is the best identifier, especially early season. Waiting for it to bloom, though, isn't ideal.
