I know that it is somewhat heat tolerant, but it has been blistering this year. I'm in Metairie and have benefited from the rains of last week. Plus I try to water 3 days a week for 75mins when it is not raining. St. Aug / Zoysia mix. Safe to spray early in the morning? Then pre-em in October?

I’ve been scared to all summer. Grass looks better now. I’ll probably spray it this week.

Probably good not to hit it when we were in the drought, but after a couple rains, you should be OK for spot spraying. Turf is stunted some, but recovers quickly.

I just applied some to my pesky lespedeza.

I'm new to the lawn maintenance game. I had Empire Zoysia sod installed in February and it has grown in well this summer. There are a few patches of VBW in it that I would like to eliminate. Would spot spraying Celsius kill the VBW and not damage my grass??

How long before you should see it working? I sprayed Monday and haven’t seen anything turning yellow yet. I know I didn’t put a strong dose and may have not put enough. Thinking of respraying tomorrow since I cut grass today.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable pops in but I'd say wait 10-14 days.

Celsius is a systemic herbicide - it has to translocate through the plant and into the root system. it takes time to work. Don’t re-spray after a week - you could damage your lawn grass. Wait a minimum of 3 weeks, before even thinking of re-spraying.

I agree with this, but I’ll also say while it’s slower than round up it is usually noticeable in a couple of days. I have a good bit of chamberbitter and dollar weed. It kills both quickly if the right amounts are used. It’s also easy to tell what was missed, as some will die quickly and others won’t.

So if the OP has nothing dying I guess he should wait, but he likely used not nearly enough. But if he has some stuff dying he could go and just spot spray.

I spot sprayed combo Celcius/Certainty with surfactant last week. Like everywhere in the south, its been very dry here. Waited till after a rain and I had no burning or stress on a Bermuda lawn.

If you have a speech impediment, it is safe to say that you will spray Celsius all over the place. Thelthiuth.
