My wife wants to renovate/ update our master bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen should be simple but we are looking for suggestions on helping with the bathroom redesign and then the actual work. Any suggestions appreciated.

I’ve seen an ad for Regal Remodelers. They seem to have good reviews online.

You and your wife better both take off of work just for him to come out to take a look, otherwise he ain’t coming. I’ve called him twice for a kitchen quote and he refuses to come out to even look unless both spouses are home. It’s difficult for both of us to take off of work and I explained to him that we obviously know what we want but he was an absolute dickhead about it and yelled at me, refusing to come out. He can kiss my arse, he’s probably too expensive anyway.

I’d also not recommend Acadian Kitchen & Bath on Exchequer Blvd either, while I’m at it. We had them do our master bathroom a few years ago and while they do good work, they’re just extremely expensive and required that we pay them a non-refundable $1,500 design fee first. This expensive service ended up designing precisely what my wife and I had imagined to begin with so that was wasted money, on top of the outrageous overall cost of the job.

These days it’s hard to find anyone to do good work and be reliable. With all my bitching, I’ll admit Acadian was very easy to work with and they were more professional than I could’ve ever imagined, so they do have that going for them. Good luck in your search and just be prepared to pay more than you should.

I'll never pass an opportunity to make this same point.

Stupid expensive and weird/slimy way of showing you pricing. I'll never forget their way of showing us the quote for our kitchen remodel that they put together.
She covered the paper with a blank sheet of paper, and slid the blank page down line by line. She reached the total for materials and it was around $71k (no appliances included, btw). Then she slid the paper down and there was one line item listed as "Acadian House Contract" for $60k. I have no idea what that means and couldn't bother to even ask - we just politely left. We didn't select crazy finishes in our design with them (we upgraded everything when we actually did the renovations ourselves and STILL didn't come even remotely close to $131k).

Just avoid this outfit completely. There may be some market for their services, but it must be completely ignorant housewives with too much money and no sense. If you have any clue what you want or how construction works, just avoid them completely.

ETA: This was all in 2017, by the way. With inflation, I shudder to think of what they'd quote me now

Thanks for the personal feedback. I’m already expecting the bathroom room to be high but this certainly helps.

Yep mine was in 2017 as well. frick them. Kyla was hot as frick though, so there was that.

True story about her…
I made a joke to my wife about how maybe I could do her some favors to bring down the price. She rolled her eyes at me. A week later she accidentally butt dialed me at midnight and woke us both up. Wife goes, “who is calling you?” And I couldn’t help but laugh as I showed her the phone (I had her number saved since we had gone back and forth with details). That was a fun night as my wife really did start to suspect I had something going with her . I always take her jealousy as a compliment. She apparently has more confidence in me convincing another woman to have sex with me than I do

So your wife had an idea in her head and then a draftsman nailed it perfectly snd your mad that it cost money for them to do it?

Yef you won't recommend them?

I love that people that bitch about stuff that's too expensive but exactly what they wanted and extremely professional but they won't recommend them because they think it should be cheaper like the guy that wouldn't show up at your house.

"Good Contractors are so hard to find because I want them to be able to do a great job but with no profit margins"

Good work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't good. Good luck OP, no matter what you do don't be a bitch that complains about cost when you agree to it and sign a contract.

Give a guy named Jerimiah Davis with bullfrog renovations in BR a call. He worked for my company for years, started doing custom tile work, detail stuff etc and we eventually forced him into running projects of various types from high end commercial to multifamily and residential to make him get off his tools and he really developed well. Got to the point I was passing him along so many small jobs like bathroom and kitchen remodels that we didn’t want to do that it made sense for him to go out on his own. I refer him to friends and it has always gone well.
