Propane torch weed burner

Anyone ever used a propane torch weed burner for sporadic weed control? All the herbicides I've used thru the years, take a while to work, and I find myself buying that expensive shite and respraying the same areas, a lot.

I have one that I used to burn weeds that comes up through cracks and stress seams in driveway and side walk and along the the street curb. Works fine - doesn’t kill the roots so they come back but just burn them again.
I bought it for the same purpose you you desire. Though I’ll spray those same weeds if I mix a batch of herbicide to spray lawn weeds, I got tired of the inefficiency of mixing herbicide just to spray a limited number of “concrete” weeds. I purchased mine on-line but I’m pretty sure I saw them in Home Depot last year when walking through the store.

I thought about using one on the deer lease. Not sure how the lumber company feels about it. Tractor supply usually has them in stock.

They're a lot of fun to play with! I use mine to burn brush and start fires lol

They work, got one from Horrible Freight.

Same, from harbor freight. Use it on poa annua in a drain that pre-emerge never kills the seeds.
And then I use it on a bunch of other crap, because I'm walking around with a flame thrower.

Don't let the tank tip over...sucker shoots a flame about 10 feet and scares the crap out of everybody. Don't ask how I know or how many beers were involved.

I've had this one for about 3 years now. Zero problems with it and I use it all of the time.
I burn weeds with it, start fires for my burn piles, and I even use it to start up my bbq pits. (No more waiting for a fire starter or a chimney, I'll have lump charcoal ready to rock in under 2 minutes)

I've used one for years. I use a 5 propane tank. Works fine. Get one with a long handle.

We use them on the deer lease from time to time. Use it it quickly seer the stickers on pear cactus. Quick hit and singes the sharp end. Cows and deer are all over the cactus after it gets a quick blast. They love cactus for food and for the water content.
Not trying to hijack thread. Used this at home a few times but weeds come back. Works good to start stubborn wood in the pit.

I've used one for the same reason. Initially, LOTS of fun, and you'll find quite a few things that need the attention of your new toy. Unfortunately, it'll kill the tops but the roots will be unaffected. Trying to burn 'em down to the roots will cause the concrete/bricks to crack or flake (experience talking). Ultimately, you'll go back to an herbicide and in a couple years you'll find something that is a great candidate for the flamethrower toy, but the hose will have rotted and need to be replaced (again, experience talking). My advice is DEFINITELY get one, go through the motions mentioned above, and enjoy the experience.
Note to self: buy another torch and repeat the experience.

I have one and it is awesome. The only thing i have found out that the weeds will continue to come back.

And a long hose. I have the Harbor Freight one and it has a pretty short hose, so more lugging around the propane tank.

I tried to cook a steak with one several years ago. I had the steak on a wire grate. I don’t exactly recall what happened, but I never tried it again. It was a nice cut, a chuck eye steak. It was not a successful operation.
