I’ve had Stihl base model for 8 years. Love it. Starts easily but you have to know how Stihls start. Not hard to learn. Very hard on it. Replaced the carb once. I have an Echo base and it works very well too. Very easy to start. I bought it used and just cleaned it up. Ryobi battery powered. Meh. Unless you are touching up a garden or flower bed, stay away. Battery won’t last too long. Not a fan of most battery powered items.
Stihl has more torque and runs harder. Echo runs very well and is very easy to use. I’d buy either again. I used them both on land out of town and at home. I may jump up a size from the base model just because of heavy use on the land.
Use Truefuel or mix your own with non ethanol. Straight shaft only.

lol, guys stuck on gas that shite on battery powered will post something like this. none of that is convenient. "starts easily but there's a trick..." yeah, it's a 2 stroke gas engine, they always turn into a pain eventually or you're rebuilding it.
like someone said, 90+% of people here would be perfectly fine with a good battery powered weedeater. The ones that claim you need more than that for a typical house setup are the same guys that "need" a 60" $10k commercial zero turn for their postage stamp yard.
