Little Gem is an excellent mango. Small compact tree with super disease resistance. Please post a picture when you have a chance because that's definitely on the list of potential container mangos for the zone 9 and below guys here. Kind of hard to find too.

My Shenandoah pawpaw graft is still pushing. First leaves rotted under the graft tape so I was afraid it was a goner.

Have a sunflower pawpaw scion coming in today and will graft it on top of my other Louisiana native pawpaw seedling.

I would love to have those one day. For now, all my tree energy is focused on persimmons. I have a Rosseyanka and Nikita's Gift scion doing pretty well on my male native, and I just planted a Valeene Beauty tree this morning.

What’s a safe solution for getting rid of these weeds at the base of my clementine orange tree? Thanks

You should be able to spray without any issues to the tree.
Your call on organic (vinegar, soap, salt) or synthetic (glyphosate).
I would also work on opening up the canopy on that tree. You need to either selectively trim it or stake the branches out. Looking for 3-4 main scaffold branches going into different directions. Trim those dead tips off, and tip the branches to promote further lateral growth.
Many people let home fruit trees get too large, and that makes them difficult to manage, (freeze protection) harvest fruit from, and treat any pests.
The open center Helps with airflow and insect activity.
Wish I would Have done it to my citrus sooner!
My lime tree stays capped at 8ft. The rest are under 6!

Laff. I want to add one more mango.
Looking for either a later season variety or very different flavor profile than my current 2. Pickering and Dwarf Hawaiian. Container grown.
That Etsy seller you posted verified?
Good price on the avocados lol.
I’m eyeballing the Maria Black (B) to put in the yard near my Reed (a).

Regions/Zelle blocked my order from Melissa. Did you pay her via Zelle?

That's dollar weed. Mulch won't stop it. It's everywhere in my yard. I pull by hand or ignore. Nothing I'm aware of that you can spray it with that is safe for the tree.

Dwarf Hawaiian and Pickering are both classic/coconut mangos. Late season will be difficult, really limits your options. Only stellar one I can think of that fits your parameters is little gem. Late, dwarf, good disease resistance, Indian/west Indian flavor. Honey kiss also but that's classic flavor. Wiltz may know more. Keep in mind that "late season" mangos may not behave the same in south Louisiana.
Yes, Melissa Pierce is legit. I know several people that have had good experiences.
Maria Black is crazy productive and dwarf. Great container tree according to the south Florida guys.

I have not bought from her. Just know people who have. Banks will block your first zelle transfer if you don't call the bank first. Happened to me with another vendor.

Texted one guy and he says he can't remember. Did you try contacting her?

So I recently bought a kentia palm (Howea forsteriana). Probably the 2nd toughest and easiest indoor palm after parlor palm (Chamaedorea elegans). But kentia is far more attractive and unfortunately expensive. It came 4 palms in a 3g and I separated them all into their own pots. I don't like growing non-clumping palms in the same pot and I think kentia looks great as a single especially once it starts trunking. Not sure if I will keep them all or sell some. I guess I need to wait a couple of months to see if they survive this process first.
If you've ever wanted an indoor palm tree, parlor and kentia are as easy as it gets. We have also seen some success with majesty palm in this thread, but that is not the typically reported experience.

Little Gem is here. Pretty pleased. With all the price escalation on mango trees this one feels like a steal at $200. This tree would be $400 or more elsewhere right now.
The grower thinks this one was purchased as a 3 gallon back in 2022. It’s now in a 30 gallon pot and probably between 6-7 feet tall. Checks out; it’s a known semi-dwarf species.
It’s a bit lanky; but, otherwise seems very healthy. Good thick and strong trunk.
Will get it in the grove tomorrow.

Little Gem is a later production small and super disease resistant variety that hits a West Indian vibe with some coconut undertones.
M-4 is a small/medium sized tree that produces a distinctive coconut flavored mango.
Neelum is a Indian profile late season tree with a good dwarf habit.
Orange Essence is a late producing citrus flavored mango. It’s a small to medium sized tree.
Honey Kiss is a classic profile and a medium sized tree.
Given that you’ve hit the classic and coconut vibes already I might look at Neelum or Little Gem.

Yes that is the correct FB profile.

Uncles neighbor has what I understand is a ponderosa (softball shaped) lemon tree. Not that those are uncommon but is the fruit good for anything?
