I wrap them up with foam and let them run a bit. None of them froze up the last time we had a big deep freeze.

Went ahead and got the fireplace going to keep some of the downstairs warm until we go to bed. Dishwasher running around 1am on clean mode with high heat water, washing machine getting a clean tub rinse now and then we'll probably run it on a timer later with some type of low energy mode that LG has on their app. Going to drip the faucets around 11pm before bed.
It's starting to feel pretty frigid out already.

Just barely run a hot faucet, it will not be enough to kick on the water heater.
Is it the same with a standard tank gas water heater? Trickle won’t be enough to kick it on?

First year in my house, I was out of town for 3 days of a hard freeze. Came back with no issues, with no exposed pipes wrapped and no faucets dripping. I also have an outdoor tankless water heater.
With that being said, I still wrap and drip. But don't believe it is necessary.

Thinking of wrapping my outdoor faucets in towels and then covering with a garbage bag.
Would then drop the faucet at my sink on the opposite side of my main water feed.
Any thoughts on that?

I have used hard shell hose bib covers for years in very harsh climates - including Central Europe and Washington State / New Mexico where winters are far colder longer than they are in the south. Have never lost a hose bib to freezing. They are about $5 at HD. My lab loves the damned things, must taste very good because she is 7 years old and they are about the only thing she still chews up.

Have mine wrapped in towels and garbage bag, no drip. Inside faucets dripping. What do we think?

have pex on conditioned crawlspace. I just detach hose pipe from spigot and never had a problem, down to single digits.
