I’ve been using B&D 20v Lithium for years, trimmer, hedge clipper, blower and pole saw, and it’s pretty for solid for small jobs, maintenance type things but pretty much need the gas powered counterparts for heavy duty stuff.
Like if your edging lines are already pretty well cut, it’s quick and easy to zip along weekly. But if they’re overgrown badly need to clear it out with the gas one.

I have a 56V string trimmer from Ego and it is awesome. It gets the runtime on a single charge that I used to get from a tank of gas in my gasoline. Best of all, when you squeeze the trigger, it cuts. Makes no noise but the string hitting the grsss!

They have no oil to “change” as it’s mixed into the gas. That could be a problem!
I love my Ryobi battery operated hedger, I get a great 10 minutes of use before it’s dead!

i have the EGO one.
i freaking love that thing. literally anytime there's something too big to cut w/ a trimmer, i just pick it up, add a smidge of chain oil and go crazy.
its stupid convenient compared to my old gas-powered chainsaw.
grab & insert battry, cut, hang back on the pegboard.

I do like ego for the yard stuff. But still can't handle large jobs. Also it's been I think 4 years and I can tell the charge not lasting as long on a 250 buck battery

I bought a B&D 40v weedeater/ blower combo for $100 when I bought my house. The weedeater is legit one of the best purchases I've made. I even bought another combo package later on to get another battery and backup weedeater. Both blowers were gigantic pieces of shite though, but $100 for a battery and nice weedeater made it worth it.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the ego trimmer and blower. Seems like almost everything was equal in that higher voltage class (56-80).

I bought the trimmer yesterday and used it to clean up the yard a little, definite improvement over my 24v Kobalt.

folks, don't get anything less than 56v in your stuff. You'll wish you had more when you eventually upgrade to a mower or other stuff.

i'm trying to get my MIL to buy a set but want her to get a higher voltage setup. she sent me a link to the 18v ryobi one and i told her that's not going to be strong enough. she doesn't need to be trying to crank any 2 stroke engines, i showed her my trimmer and blower and how she should be able to handle it. she just doesn't want to come off any money..., ha!

It really wasn't a bad unit but the lower-end models just don't have the replacement parts like the more expensive options.

Are 56 volt batteries just more 3.7v cells stuck together to get 56 volts? Or are they higher voltage cells with fewer actual cells?
Asking because if it's just more 3.7v cells, doesn't that increase the chances of one bad one messing up the works?
