Ive got four or five swooping in and running each other off two feeders. I cant seem to get over the hump to where they give up fighitng each other. 10 days ago I had four or five and they were hovering around feeders, but now we are back to one running all the other ones off.

Up to 6 feeders. I am getting up to 4 at a time sitting in peace. Will be 2 quarts every second day from here to the October cold front.

Try adding a 3rd or 4th feeder. Hang them 6-8 feet from each other. One dominate bird can't defend 3 or 4 feeders and will have to pick one. That leaves options for the other birds.

If you space the feeders far apart. One bird can dominate each feeder.

Is this optimum? I definitely have more space between mine.

That's what works for me. I have found having them closer together gets you more birds. I have 3 feeders and today I filled up 2 of them twice and the 1 that the dominate bird guards didn't need filling. I will have 5-10 birds sitting and drinking at the 2 that the dominate bird leaves alone.

I didn't have a single one all summer long. I saw one in the backyard on Sunday and refilled the feeder Sunday afternoon. I've had three or four on regular feeding since then.

For the past week we have refilling out four feeders either everyday or every other day. There are so many I can't count them, but I would guess around 30. My wife and I can sit on the patio about 5' from them and they keep zooming around, fighting and sometimes eating. Sometimes there is a peace agreement and there are birds on every port at every feeder. It is 50 degrees this morning, so I suspect they may head further South.

Where’s the peak of the migration now? Curious what this storm is going to do to the migration.

Put one feeder out yesterday morning at our place on the Mississippi gulf cost, have 5 birds swarming it for the past two days. Should’ve out two. They are super territorial.

I had 8-10 working my three feeders this morning. I'm anxious to see if they return after the storm.

They have been feeding on my feeders the last three weeks.

Area to the east and west of the center will get more. My record year was when a storm hit Tx and traveled NW through the State. I am convinced birds went around it to CENLA.
