Grill for outdoor kitchen

I’m in the process of building a home and it’s almost time for me to select the grill for the outdoor kitchen.
The plumbing is in place for gas, but I’m not sold on the idea of a gas grill. The convenience is nice, but the taste just isn’t as good as charcoal or pellets. For this reason, I’m probably leaning more towards a pellet grill than a gas one. I want something that is well made and will be durable.
Any of you willing to share pros and cons of what you have at your place?
TIA

Big Green Egg and a griddle/hibachi is the perfect combo for us.

Freestanding rectec bull 700 pellet grill. I have seen people build them into outdoor kitchens though.

I have a Bull gas grill 60,000 BTU (built in) and an Orion Convection Smoker (free standing). I like the gas grill for some stuff but man are they expensive. If your looking for charcoal I would do an egg type and just build a platform. The convenience of gas is just too appealing for me.

I did a RCS for mine. I like the gas because it’s quick and most of the time it’s just my wife and I. If I wanted to get an egg it would be free standing.

If you have the funds and the space, I would just put in both.

Did a kamado joe and a DCS gas grill (wife’s request) and I have to admit the DCS was the best thing we could have done. We use it 2-3 days a week. Burgers, kabobs, shrimp are so quick and easy. Can’t imagine not having it now.

I grew up grilling on charcoal, always loved the smell of it and the taste.
I built an outdoor kitchen 2 years ago with a built in gas grill and haven't looked back. It is so convenient for us that we use it 2-3 nights a week. Once you cook on it for a few months it will season itself and keep those flavors just like a charcoal grill.
If the only thing holding you back is the "taste" of charcoal- I would recommend you go with gas. Whatever you think you may lack in charcoal "taste" will be minimal and more than made up for by the convenience.

Pretty much my experience as well. I have a Weber Genesis II NG grill. Had it two years and it's the best grill I have ever owned, coupled with the convenience of being able to walk out there and turn it own whenever and however long I want is pure bliss. You would be a fool not to install one. You can always have a charcoal as well but you will find you will use the NG 95% of the time.

Coyote makes a combo gas/charcoal grill. Also has a drop in griddle option. Love mine. Added a BGE for low and slow or smoking. Got it all covered. I am old as dirt and hooked on charcoal and had never cooked on a gas grill but I like the options.
Two stage power burner from Blaze allows crawfish or jambalaya but the lowest setting is still a little hot for simmering. A side burner would be nice.
And you can’t have too much storage.

Thanks for all of the really good feedback. I ended up going with a gas grill.
