Ordered a Generac whole house generator through my long time electrician in March. He continues to claim he can't get it from multiple different suppliers.

Have no reason not to believe him but well, come on man. He's been my only electrician/AC guy for nearly 30 years. Very reputable fellow, so that's not really an issue.

It's October now, and my patience is wearing thin. Anyone had better luck than me?

I know someone that bought one right after the storm. They just drove to Houston and they loaded it right on their truck and they drove it back. They said there was a warehouse full of them. No wait.

they sitting on boats outside california along with just about everything else being imported here and all of it with an 8-9 month wait just to unload before they even go to the distribution warehouses where they have additional 8-9 month backorder delays

all caused intentionally by design as ordered by biden and his china overlords

You can get a Kohler or Cummins more quickly, for what it’s worth. You’ll also have a superior generator.

I ordered 2 Honda generators last year, took a year fo dealer to get them.
I went by the Cummins dealer in Oct 2020 to see about whole house generator,The receptionist told me it would be January 2022 before it would be installed. That’s why I decided to go with the Honda’s.
There seems to be no shortage of Chinese generators, before Ida Sutherlands had 400 Firmans and place is Woodworthhad 200.

Yes, I've read about those on here in the last several months. I'm sure not married to Generac.

I'm in NELA and would be glad to do business with someone else IF they could get one quickly or, lol, at all....just don't know who that would be.

Purchased a Honeywell 20kW through Pabst Cooling Solutions out of Mandeville a couple weeks ago. Took about 3-4 weeks to get one after first contact. He’s the only guy I’ve seen be able to get generators as of late.

Yep, not a good time to be wanting a generator. Earlier replies aren't encouraging either.

I'm at seven months right now, with no end in sight.

We ordered our inventory in February, we're just a retailer. We ordered 18 standby units and have yet to receive one. We did get our portables but not one standby unit has shipped yet. We're being told by the end of this month but I don't even believe it anymore, the dates been moved a few times.

He's not shitting you, it's been terrible.

Thanks Wilson..... appreciate the info. My guy said a while back the chips were part of the problem, and that the ones that were available were going to medical related entities.

Its just frustrating as hell, as I'm sure you know.

Optimize was doing yearly service on my 25kw liquid cooled generac, was talking with the tech and he said the 22kw air cooled down to the 7kw are backlogged to feb/mar 2022..the liquid cooled is about 2 weeks wait time. In 2017 my 25kw ((LC) was right at 14,000 installed with other options. The same 25kw installed now is right at 20,000.

Just ordered a 24 kw diesel and it is 10 weeks. I looked at several generac units and none of them had that long of a lead time. 6-8 weeks was the longest they gave me. Your electrician either forgot to order or doesn’t want to frick with it

Same here. Ordered mine in March. Last I spoke to the local rep was about a month ago; I was told last week he would have it. Still, nothing. Been meaning to call for another update.

Just an FYI, in case you’re in my situation, large propane tanks are in short supply too. I got very lucky on a quick turnaround time with my generator, to have to sit here and look at it with no fuel source.

Strangely enough, there are certain vendors who seem to have a hookup on generators. The guy I used out of Slidell keeps getting a steady supply of them.
