Fridge Ice Maker Issue

I have a newer french door refrigerator and the ice maker has stopped producing ice. I've searched online and all I've found is "make sure the lever switch is on" and "make sure the main water valve is open". After that everything says call a professional. The switch is on, I checked the main valve, and I know it's not a water issue because the water dispenser is working fine. I can also hear the pump turning on so I don't think its a pump issue. I haven't taken off the cover on the back of the fridge yet because I'd have to take out what must be 186 screws to get in it so I figured I'd come here first. Trying to avoid getting ripped off by an appliance repairman. Anyone else had a similar issue and have a fix?

Is your water line frozen up? Have you tried defrosting it?

Is anything stuck in the ice tray? Mine will not refill if there's anything in there.

Your coils may be frozen over.

I imagine there are a hundred YouTube help videos out there.
Because every ice maker ever manufactured has broken at some point

Had a similar issue a few weeks back and ended up having to replace the housing that the filter sits in (Whirlpool). Took quite a bit of troubleshooting to figure it out.

Look at the fill pipe that feeds. Water into the tray and make sure it does not have a frozen plug of ice… the defrost comment is in line with this fix…..or if you see the ice lug use a hairdryer to melt it…

Have you tried raising the temp setting of the freezer by one or two degrees? (Maybe try one degree first.). I did this and it stopped mine from freezing up.

Raising the temp caused all the ice to stop forming on the ice maker?

No, it just stopped the water line from freezing up. Haven’t had an issue (knock on wood) since doing it.
