young americana rooster. Good looking bird…white with green neck feathers and black tail feathers. Was supposed to be a hen, but definitely is not. Free. Located in Baton Rouge but will consider delivery.

I'd bet he bought from tractor supply that sexes the chicks. Only problem is that they aren't always correct. That happened to us a few years ago.

Don’t need the rooster but I have plenty of laying hens if you need some.

I got mine from a local feed store. One turned out to be a banty rooster. He was an arse and also a badass. He died fighting a hawk. I didn’t lose a single chicken when he was running the show. RIP in peace Jefe.

bring him to the closest feed store they’ll find a taker. I had the same thing happen to me but he was a barred rock…big as a basketball

fricker was a badass but he spurred me one too many times and had to go. He wasn’t on the porch ten minutes at the Hammond feed store before someone took him

A good rooster is beneficial. You may have to go round for round with him until he realizes you are the big man on campus, but they will do their job and protect the hens.

Our boy Big Fred was an arse, then I set up shop and butchered the meat chickens right where he could see me. Grabbed them with an old crab net, then went to town. Since that day he don't mess with me anymore. If I touch that net his big arse is gone

My friend always has a few extra roosters. If someone wants some, let me know. If not, she releases them into the pasture, allowing predators to have them.

I had a kitten like that when I was a little kid. It was the only male cat I've ever seen have kittens.

So, you don't know how to make chicken soup????

My sister-in-law just had to have chickens for eggs a few years ago and found out that the dozen "hens" she got included 2 roosters. It became very evident once they were a few months old and she called me to see if I would be interested in them, and she didn't care what I did with them. My wife's brother, her husband, was tired of the crowing in the wee hours of the a.m., but didn't have the heart to dispatch them himself

I made it very clear they were going in the freezer and she was fine with that although she didn't have the heart to cook them herself.

They made some great chicken/noodle soup.

Had that happen with a pullet we bought.

He's now the boss bird in the yard. He has a partner that I couldn't bring myself to cull with the other roosters out of our first batch of chicks. Bastard survived a dog attack and has been the running mate of the boss bird ever since. Also a great source of entertainment when he starts crowing and the boss has had enough of his shite and proceeds to whip his arse across the yard.
