Does anyone know where to fill a small CO2 tank for a kegerator in a pinch?

The place I normally go (Airgas) doesn't guarantee same day service, you drop it off and wait for a call, and I need it for Halloween. The old Google says ACE, Dicks and Walmart but they do not fill them anymore.
I'm in the Westbank/New Orleans area and hoping to get drunk tomorrow.

Your location will matter OP, and in a pinch same day isn’t easy. But places that can do it would be Fire Protection places that do like fire extinguishers, I’ve done it at a Scuba tank store but that may have been odd, and depending on where you are call a home brew store or beer distributor as they would know.

Homebrew supply maybe? Big thing about refills is the tank gets hot, so it does take a while after filling to cool.

I’m on the Westbank but will be driving through the city and then Hammond tomorrow for work.
I did hear about Fire extinguisher places, so I will be looking into those places tomorrow.
What sucks is that I filled it last month and I guess it wasn’t really full. I figured I’d be good though Halloween.

Welding supply house is usually where I got. In and out in 5 minutes.

quote:You are probably thinking about filling compressed air tanks(scuba). compressing the air makes it hot. Filling a liquid CO2 tank wont make it really hot. The place will most likely put your tank in a ice bath to move the liquid co2 faster.

Most fire extinguisher companies should be able to fill it for you.
