do any of them actually dry these days?

A little over a month ago, we had to replace our 20 year-old Kenmore.

After doing some research and a lot of looking, we bought an LG model. After we purchased it but before it was delivered, I began hearing horror stories from my sister and other folks about their new dishwashers not drying.

Thankfully, the new LG does NOT have that problem. Need to use a rinse aid as advised, and use 'extra dry' and 'overnight dry' option, but dishes, cups, glasses and silverware are all good and dry, even plastic go-cups.

My KitchenAid recommended a few posts up dries great.

Rinse aid is a must in new dishwashers. Although the KitchenAid does have an actual heating element, I still need to run rinse aid to have completely dry dishes.

Not sure of Bosch incorporates the heating element. Lack of drying is the number gripe with almost everyone with a Bosch.

FWIW the owner of the local appliance shop I bought from, who sells KitchenAid and Bosch, among others, went with a KitchenAid for his house.

Wife said she likes the way the kitchenaid looks and had a Bosch once upon a time and said she hated everything about it.

Guess I'm getting a KitchenAid.

Whole thread out the window.

Good thing the "good looks" comes with some actual quality. Thats not so common these days.

Happy wife, happy life. It's just a dishwasher after all.

same. This is the most unsexy appliance you can buy. I just want it to disappear into the background for a few years.

We got a low priced (I was going to say cheap, but I don't want to imply that it sucks) GE on black Friday sale a few years ago. The house had a high end Samsung when we moved in that went out and would have cost more to replace that part than to buy the new one. No problems with it. It's a little louder, and takes a little longer. But it gets the dishes clean. We only run it overnight anyway, so it doesn't matter how long it takes or how much noise it makes. Plus, it was made in America, so I don't have to call South Korea if any of the parts go out. That's a plus. I'll just talk to an American who can get me the part directly from China.

May I know the appliance store name please?

Dishwashers are impossible to find right now!

I am between Bosch and Kitchenaid, but both are unavailable or backordered right now.

The complaints I have seen against the new Bosh are the racks are terrible.

I love the other features of the Bosch, but that is such an important part, IMO.

Top of the line LG has been great for last 4 years. Very quiet.

Could you provide the model?

I am really trying to find a good dishwasher.

Have had both Bosch and Kitchenaid. Both clean well but the Bosch always left dishes wet ! The Kitchenaid has a heating element and that helps considerably with drying dishes !

I haven’t seen it posted, but just want to make sure you don’t buy a Samsung. Terrible product for dishwasher!

I built new construction 3 years ago, and bought a Samsung fridge and dishwasher with GE everything else. The fridge and dishwasher both broke inside of 2 years and haven't worked correctly since, while all the GE appliances work perfectly. Samsung appliances are garbage, stay away.

In my 20 years of marriage and 3 houses, I continue to replace everything with GE.

Have not replaced any GEs since purchase.

Not saying anything bad about any other brand, (other than Samsung and LG) but my GE’s have all been steady performers.
