I need help deciding on a new washer. Speed Queen is unfortunately not an option so I’m trying to decide between these two. Is there any real preference of one over the other?

They all suck. Buy the cheapest one and replace in 5 years. Appliance build quality sucks. I had whirlpool, maytag, samsung and lg. They all equally are terrible.

Buy you a $350 top loader and call it a day.

Who gives a shite what a dryer looks like?

Buy a washer from 20 or 30 years ago. It will probably outlast a new one

Everyone will tell you Speed Queen here. They must build them in Baton Rouge or sponsor LSU.

Electrolux has been the best we've had. We have a front loader and had no issues in 3 years.

I wouldn’t purchase either of those. Get you a basic Whirlpool top load.

Don't buy a front load washer. Get a top load.

Get a Whirlpool top loader. Never buy LG appliances.

If you see a Whirlpool run the other way.

Have had a big LG front loader for about 5 years without a problem

Your main consideration these days is the availability and cost of repair parts. The more computerized the greater the chances you'll have an extra large capacity paperweight on your hands if it fails.

If you budget affords it I would go with a Maytag or Speen Queen high efficency top loader. Their factory warranties are much longer and they have the parts and qualified personnel to fix them.

Never had a front loading washer. Is there any real benefit? They have to be more complex that a top loader.

What are the chances that anyone owns both of these machines and can offer a fair comparison?

Get a top load. My experience with FL is mildew and mold around the opening. Needs more maintenance to keep it clean

LG is way better than Elux for washers. I hate the new Electrolux line of laundry equipment more than all. Changing a thermal fuse takes nearly an hour on a Elux dryer. It takes 10 minutes on most others. So Electrolux cost more or people will pass on them due to how they tie up tech time.
