I am in the process of building a patio behind my house.

~720 sq ft (4") for the patio + walkway

Initial quote I received was $5800 which is more than I was expecting / planning

Anyone have someone they'd recommend or care to chime in with how much they paid for similar work on a sq.ft. basis?

I was hoping $6 thinking $7

Had a guy quote me at $5.20/sq.ft. Over the phone

He’s going to come look at it tomorrow

I paid about $6k for a similar deal in Mandeville back in April 2021. That's a pretty good price honestly. Who are you using?

Seems reasonable to me. Be careful hunting the low bid. Concrete is something that must be done right the first time. Get references.

Demo + prep work included?
Sounds like a deal if it is.

Give "A Perfect Landscape" a call. They did some backyard work for me a month or so ago and I was pleased with the price and job.

Absolutely this. I got burned on a low bid at my previous house and I regretted it every day.

I would call Brian Sharp with Sharp Concrete Finishing. (985) 237-0104. He just poured a paver subdeck for me and did an excellent job. He was super thoughtful about slope, drainage, etc. and his crew worked really efficiently. They also cleaned up after themselves really well.

That’s a fricking steal. Better check his references and see some work. I’d almost be wary.

Called him for a quote on Thursday. He came by and took a look Friday. Just left the house with a new patio today

I built the patio part. Idk if it's common but I know it's much sturdier

ETA: my dad had a big shed built in 2016 and they did it this way. Our house was destroyed during Ida but the shed held fine
