Hello,

I am currently finalizing plans for an outdoor kitchen at my home. I am currently planning to have a Coyote NG Flat Top Griddle installed in the kitchen. Does anyone have any experience with built in griddles? One of my concerns is longevity of the equipment as replacing a piece of equipment (not in kind) would result in having to replace the counter top.

I considered a built in griddle when designing my outdoor kitchen. I ultimately decided against it for the reason you stated, as well as there are plenty of non-permanent options for a griddle that you won't have to sacrifice counter space for.

I use a "Little Griddle" on my grill grates if I'm cooking outside, and I also have a steel griddle I use on my rangetop inside.

Same here. Did the blaze NG 5 burner built in. 95% of the time I use my little griddle insert. It covers 3 burners so if I have sausage or something I still have 2 burners left for those. Obviously a full size griddle would be nicer as I make a mess when doing hibachi rice but I like the flexibility of the insert.

I just took a Blackstone with a cover and built it in. I do have it under the covered back porch though. I did not put the shelves or stand on it and built heat shield around and under it to keep the heat from radiating into the cabinets. I converted it to natural gas and hooked it into the house line. It has held up very well.

That’s what I did. I have a double burner next to my grill and I bought a griddle to go on top of it.

I put in a blaze 30” griddle. Cook everything on that thing. It was a great purchase

No outdoor experience, but I have an old gas oven/stove with a built in cast-iron griddle. Probably do 90% of my cooking on that, would never dream of not having a suitable replacement, and can't see where durability would come into play if you properly cover it when not in use.

In the process of new construction and had BBQ guys put together a preliminary design for my outdoor kitchen. Really excited about the built-in griddle. Feel like I will use it more than the pit and the burner. May switch the griddle and the burner and need to add power on the end near the Rectec

What are your cabinets made of? My builder quoted me for stain grade cabinets and it seems like a great price. They would be under my covered patio.
