Already has a mix of st. Aug,(not much)
lots of weeds, and other stuff.
Looking for low maintenance that can take over everything else once it’s cut on a regular basis

ME gave the correct answer. I will say Bahia will need to be mowed pretty often. If you are in the BR area go to the Scott's Miracle Gro plant on Hwy 30. Their 5 or so acres is all bahia.

If Bahia is acceptable, carpetgrass should have its hat thrown in the ring.

Bermuda.
Easily has the most herbicide options to kill unwanted weeds without the grass itself.

Following as I will have to plant a similar amount. Curious why not the typical recommendations of zoysia? Cost?

I believe zoysia needs to be sodded. There’s one variety that can be seeded, but I think it’s lesser quality than the sodded stuff.

You’d need about 160 pallets of zoysia for 2 acres

Have you considered a wildflower field for a chunk?
Once it’s established you’ll have a virtually maintenance free section of absolute beauty.

I like Bermuda. Its very heavy duty and holds up well to traffic. As someone else said, lots of herbicide compatibility as well.

No I haven’t and thank you for the suggestion
Do you know what wild flowers I could plant/seed?
I would consider a section for this

Yes cost would be a huge consideration. Bahia is a fraction of the cost of zoysia, St Augustine, etc. but the biggest consideration is drought tolerance. Bahia is way more drought tolerant than most if not all other sod options. I don’t care what they say, zoysia is not that drought tolerant.

Kind of a hijack, but would you consider doing Bermuda hydroseed in lieu of Bermuda sod? Pros / cons?
Thanks!

Yes. Zoysia is A+ but it has to be sodded and put together like a puzzle as it initially grows slowly. Don't sprig or spread out. Plus a LOT more expensive than bermuda.
