Anyone's grass struggling from the recent heat/lack of rain?

I got basically no rain at my house for well over a week along with stupid hot temps. On top of that, I had sprayed MSM a week or so prior. My grass now looks rough with some pretty big brown spots. I would've/should've watered it some, but I was out of town most of last week. I'm hoping with rain forecasted regularly this week, it'll help it rebound some. Should I fertilize?

I applied MSM about 3 weeks ago. Have not gotten much rain since and have noticed a slower growth. I have a bunch of brown spots that are due to dead weeds.

Same. I haven't been doing any weed treatments for that exact reason. Seems the lawn is already stressed enough.
I'm pretty sure some spots in my yard the grass completely died.

Yesterday I threw down some fertilizer ahead of the forecasted rain this week. Hopefully that'll help the lawn recover. Then I'll have to go around doing some spot spraying after it bounces back.

I was going to spray some quinclorac but mine has been looking rough from the lack of rain and heat so I decided to wait. I may just wait till early fall and spray some MSMA.

I have to water every other day. Planted some sod this spring in an area that died due to sod web worms and it started to take, but is now taking a beating. Even watering every other day, the grass starts to look burnt by the end of the second day. I've got a ton of shade too. I'm North of Houston and the grass regularly has a hard time in the second half of summer, but it's hitting earlier now.

Been a home owner since 1993. I've watered my lawn twice in my life-late 90s and last week.

My St. Augustine in Dallas is getting crushed. Noticing the same in rest of the neighborhood as well.

I've added 2 days of watering and upped my cut height.

We've gotten maybe 1 inch in 4+ weeks. It was supposed to come yesterday, but like magic it just split up and went around us. I don't mow when it's not raining because it doesn't grow, at least I'm not having to do that. Right now the brown coloring is a good map of soil depth, which is as low as 0" down to rock. Not going to water that mess either, it's grass. My neighbors spend 1000/month watering and treating tall fescue, and theirs is brown right now too because you can't compete with no rain and 98 degrees for weeks. I watered the trees today, gotta do that once a week because I'll be much more upset if a tree doesn't make it.

My zoysia does pretty good in dry weather. But that was just too hot and dry. I watered every day for about 10 days. My yard looks great right now. Couple brown spots. Not sure what I did. May have not watered in some fertilizer enough. It will come back in a couple weeks.

Lucky. It's been about a month since I've seen rain. My yard is dirt and yellow runners right now.

I wish. Been having to cut mine twice per week this summer. No fertilizer this year either.

I’m no pro but I wouldn’t fertilize as nitrogen will burn it without the appropriate water. I’d wait for the rain and then fert if anything, make sure it gets water first.

Centipede yard is looking pretty good here. We've received spotty rain.
There's a 40% chance each day for the coming week. Should I wait to put down MSM Turf?

My centipede is holding out strong. Had 1 spot not take with the new sod laid down last month and a few yellow streaks. Only other bad area is from when I scalped it; wasn't paying attention where I was front wheel dropped on water meter cover and bottomed out. Skipped mowing this week w/ the dry heat, plus I just didn't want to do it.

Says no rain today, but looks like it may open up any minute. Suppose to rain the rest of the week.
