Any way to keep dogs from peeing on grass and killing large patches around the patio?

My wife's dog pisses about a gallon at a time right off of the patio. The only thing I've found that helps is to grab the hose and water it in. Getting your wife trained to do the same when she lets the dogs out is the really challenging part.

I've tried the dog rocks that go in the water and a supplement from Chewy. Neither of them worked.

Train them to pee on side of the house or wherever you want.

I refuse to claim him, he's criminally insane.

even the hose doesn't work for me. My dog's pee is toxic!

If water doesn't help then it is likely the salt in the urine causing the problem and you can remedy that with gypsum.

My dogs shite will turn grass to hay in 24 hours. His piss could burn cities. Seriously, it’s like he is pissing roundup

Dilution is really the only way if the dog is too old to train. Maybe put a pump sprayer with water and a little die on the patio to go over the spot when you see him, then hit that spot with the hose.

Long term you have to change the behavior, either train him to piss elsewhere, walk him with a leash where you want him, and don’t let him out to pee without watching him. They don’t really like you spraying their pee spot as they finish, it kind of worked on mine but he is only like 1y/o
