In the normal price range, not Sub Zero. TIA

I’ve been pleased with the LG I bought five years ago.

Consumerreports.org . It'll cost you $39 for a ranking of current models on the market, and you won't have people talking about a Samsung model they bought two years ago that was discontinued 18 months ago.

I’ve got a Kenmore freezer on bottom that I got in 2014. It’s probably a couple years older than when I got it bc I took it when my grandpa passed. It’s alive and kicking today.

For context, I have a 8 year old Whirlpool Gold french door fridge, and every other month some new bullshite develops that takes me 2 days to diagnose and fix with a $15 part. At the moment, the PO (Power Outage) indicator won't stop going off so I have to replace the freezer evaporator fan motor. Annoying as shite. We never did one minute of maintenance on the Kenmore I grew up with for 20 years.

I have one of those fancy Samsung ones that makes two different types of ice, has the water pitcher, and you can change the glass color if you want. I'm 100% expecting it to break in a few years but it's pretty nice so far.

My upstairs refrigerator is a side by side Whirlpool that I got in 06 after Katrina when I got back in my house and the only issues I've had is I changed out the icemaker once and now both the freezer and fridge cabinet lights are out and I need to replace them.
Not sure how the newer models stack up to the one I have since it is now 19 years old.

Go to the appliance resale store and see which two brands and style dominates the majority of their products
Stay away from them

We had an independent appliance repair tech in our home a year or so ago working on our Samsung microwave under warranty for a design flaw. He said they work on all brands but if Samsung and LG ever got their act together his shop would have to close since they make up 2/3 of his business. His recommendation is Whirlpool/Maytag/Kenmore lineup except for dishwashers where Bosch is the only correct answer.

Probably because those brands have a big share of the market.

Maytag has a 10 yr compressor warranty
Frigidaire are easy to fix.
We have had a Kenmore now for 35+ yrs and still works fine.
