I've officially ripped out most of my spring garden. It was on its way out regardless, but all the recent rain and heat pushed it over the edge. I try not to spray too much so I just let it go.

Still have my pepper plants, a couple of cucumbers, and one cherry tomato. I fertilized and re-mulched all of those to help them hang through the summer til they get ready to produce again. I didn't plant okra this year so my garden will pretty much be done if/until I plant lettuce or carrots.

Mine is finally starting to recover from all of the rain. Tomatoes are starting to put out a little Got cukes running out of my arse. Canned my first batch of pickles last night. Gonna give the "Clausen" recipe a try next.

I've canned 12 qts and 12 pints of Roma green beans and 4 pints of peas.

Squash and peppers aren't doing much but maybe the heat will kick start them.

All my regular tomatoes in the raised garden are dead from the rain, which makes no sense.

I'm not giving up on everything just yet.

Groundhog, deer, and now that I raised the garden, if not covered early the crows will dive blast and take entire plants.

How often are y’all watering your tomatoes when it’s this hot outside?
In Mandeville and getting a few degrees above 90 every day at my house. My tomatoes are planted in a raised bed with pine needles for mulch.

deeply a couple times a week, tomatoes have very deep roots. But all you’re doing is keeping them alive at this point once you pick all your tomatoes you aren’t going to get any more until the fall. We pruned ours pretty heavily and with regular water they should make it to September and flower again.

How about bell peppers and cucumbers?

Something had been eating my persimmon leaves. No visible culprit. Went out last night with a light. A swarm of June bugs.

also smoked some poblanos and some boudin/cream cheese stuffed jalapeños. The latter, with pepper jelly, was incredible

I was an afraid we wouldn’t have enough options with this massive pepper harvest but surprisingly we’ve either eaten, pickled, freeze dried or frozen everything (except the shishitos frick them). Excellent return on garden space and they are pest and disease free

Sounds interesting.
I did some fresh sausage frrom Rouses with cream cheese with wrapped in bacon with my banana peppers and they've been great. I actually have some boudin stuffing in the freezer i could use, so gonna do that this weekend.


my regular cucumber plants have all died, but my pickling cucumber plants are still alive and just started pumping out more cucumbers after a 2 week hiatus.
