Ended up with 6.39 inches for the day. Pond is full for the first time in a long time.

Do it yourself baw. I inherited my grandmothers and mothers canning equipment because my sister didn't want it. I've actually enjoyed learning how do can different things.

We bought a new (to us) place last summer. When I expand my shop I'm actually going to use some of that space as my "canning kitchen" so I don't destroy the one in the house when I can stuff.

Trying something different this morning. Instead of pictures I took a little video. However I removed the sound cause y’all don’t need to hear me talking to myself.

Did a little cleanup after all of the bad weather yesterday.

Okay guys, something has been eating up my bell peppers. Leaves and fruit have holes in them. I have broken open the fruits and there is no insect/worm/slug inside them. Cannot find any insects in or around the soil either. Plants are otherwise healthy, but at this rate, I will never harvest any peppers. I sprinkled Sevin dust on them last week, and plucked off all damaged fruit. New fruits have holes in them now even after sevin dust.

Any ideas?

I’m betting slugs are coming out at night to eat. They tend to hide during the daylight hours. That’d be my best guess.

Looks fantastic

You have way more tomatoes than i do…I have luscious plant growth but not many flowers

Thanks!

I trimmed away a lot of the lower branches this morning and didn’t even realize they had set so many. I need to spray some peroxide.

My strawberries still seem to be struggling. I’m not sure what is going on with them.

By the way, the sevin nit working is the tell. Slugs are mollusks and sevin is an insecticide

About 3/4 of the potatoes are in. Didn’t want them to start rotting in h the ground after all that rain.

Pulled the last of the beets today. No telling how many beet green salads we enjoyed off this one patch that was planted in October

These will get roasted and eaten this week. They are delicious

Garden is looking so good I’m afraid to jinx it. No sign of Betelgeuse yet

in other news, twice this week I have spied the prettiest little rabbit in my yard.

my cat has killed two little bunnies in the last 2 weeks.
he caught another one last night. The dog has noticed all the things he's killing every evening (birds, mice, rabbits, some weird mole looking rat) so he just watches him from inside and waits for him to catch something then he darts out the house to go steal it from him like a big jerk. So last night he darts out the house and i go follow and sure enough he's got a little baby rabbit in his mouth, not dead yet. I was able to get him to let it go and took it from him and held it a little while before going hide it in my cast iron plants against the fence, where i'm sure he lives. he hopped away eventually so wasn't too injured, but i'm sure he'll end up dead if he keeps hoping around my backyard.
Cat has been doing a wonderful job of killing mice, which have been a terror to my garden the last year and a half, but not anymore thanks to my killer cat.

Lemon squash ignition

tomatillos blooming, I thought this was a weed at first

Finally have some tomatoes. I’m going to need to prune these plants and open them up…they are busting out of the cages but not many flowers

this is some sort of bell pepper, loaded. This picture on the label shows them red when ripe but this plant is about to break over
