I see the one post. Is that a spoiler of some sort? I don't watch the show so I don't know.

quote:and here in lies the problem. it could be. In the past, Liberty has posted spoilers. So, him posting this in the No Spoiler thread derails legitimate discussion because many will view that comment as something that he "knows" from the comic. Is it a spoiler? I'm not sure.

Here's a quote from Dorothy on how the Comic Readers have messed up the nonReaders view:
This has been going on for some time and these are just a few of examples of how the readers have ruined part of the show.
quote:
From the "NO SPOILER" threads this season I have found out these scenarios might be introduced sometime in the future:
--there is some (probably bad) group out there called the Hunters
--there's a really bad guy named Nagin/Neghan who may or may not appear sometime in the show (when Joe was introduced a few episodes back, I actually began to speculate that he might be this mysterious Negan guy)
--cannibalism will possibly occur...this was hinted at by some posters several episodes back. Yeah, it might have been an inevitable situation in a post-apocalyptic world, and some of those speculating about it may have been non-readers, but some people seemed to know this would happen in TWD episodes coming up soon.
--Abraham is a good guy, and he will probably be around for a while. This was probably obvious given that the actor they cast to play this part isn't a complete unknown, but confirmed by people exclaiming his name before he was introduced, doing thewhen he came on screen and comments shortly after his introduction.

The Walking Dead is a TV show based on a comic book. They aren't exactly the same but the big plot points usually are. Every week we have 2 clearly marked threads for the show, one for readers/spoilers and one not, and both are fairly active.
Based on what certain readers have spoiled for us, cannibalism happens in the book and they are expecting it to happen in the show. The season finale had some subtle signs of cannibalism that non readers may not have even picked up on if the idea hadn't already been floated out there. Then LA comes into the thread declares it's 100% cannibalism, calls anyone that denies it "willfully ignorant" and basically derails the thread from a discussion about the show into a discussion about him and whether he's posted a spoiler or not. This seems to happen every few weeks where he'll cross the line on spoilers, someone calls him on it, and rather than say "my bad, I'll be better next time" he denies that he spoiled anything and makes the next 20 pages about him. I don't think he needs to be banned from the board but he does need to stay out of the threads that are clearly marked non reader/non spoiler.

Fred, I think this is grounds for a whacking.

Gotcha. Must have missed that instruction.

You know you are constantly posting borderline spoilers. You're an arrogant prick who thinks the non reader thread needs you. Seriously, you need to frick off. The fact is this. You're an admitted comic book reader so even if you aren't posting spoilers, people who only watch the show don't know if you're just speculating or actually pulling your information from the comic. You ruin every thread because you can't stop posting and then derail the thread when someone tells you to shut the frick up. Are you really this dense to not get that?
Nailed it.

That is a good breakdown of why readers, if they can't stick to what is explicitly stated on screen, should stay out.
None of that should have happened.

Liberty just has too much Bama in him.

It's a show about zombies.
Liberty didn't spoil anything this week.

Similar things happened with Tyreese. His character was introduced and the No Spoiler thread had a page worth of "Tyreese ". This made it obvious to the nonreaders that Tyreese was extremely important and an awesome character.
Whoever was excited is probably disappointed about how his storyline turned out in the show. He's not even close to the same character.
Feel better?
ETA: You've read the comics but THIS is a point you make? Come on man...

I agree with this. He did not say it was "100%" cannibalism. He hinted towards it based on what the clues of the show detailed. Even my co-workers who haven't read the comics have concluded that the Termites are cannibals.
The big thing is how can a non-comic reader know what a spoiler is if he/she hasn't actually read the comic. Multiple comic readers have said Liberty didn't spoil anything this week and Coco went on the offensive, as always, and said he did.

If he wouldnt act like such a nutjob most people wouldn't even notice the posts Coco believes to be spoilers. He is as much at fault here as liberty.

My bad, he merely quoted someone else in endorsement of said statement. He did however call anyone thinking it is anything other than cannibalism willfully ignorant.
quote:
Since its obvious they are cannibals to anyone not being willfully ignorant this isn't a spoiler.
Honestly, I'm not even all that concerned about the spoiler which might end up being wrong, but the effect he always seems to have on our discussions. He is a reader in a non reader thread and he has been asked repeatedly over the last several months to stop doing what he does and he refuses to stop. It would be very easy not to make a nuisance of himself because a good chunk of the people that constructively participate in those threads each week do happen to be readers. He's an attention whoring troll that can't help himself.
