If she wants the Peloton, get the Peloton or you will hear her screech every time it doesn't do what she wants it to do.

Just rode 14 miles for lunch. Changed shoes, opened garage, rode, opened garage, changed shoes, about to host a zoom call.

If people want to do it people can do it. Peloton is NO different. Busy has NOTHING to do with desire.

It is the "home" game version of the "Spin Class" cult of the 1990s and 2000s, for sure.

So, ride outside? In the rain? Heat? Humidity? Cold?

My wife is 5'5" ~120 lbs

She ain't fat - even after 3 kids. She used to be a workout warrior and took yoga or Pure Barre twice a week and ran several miles a couple times a week in between.

Her knees started bothering her a couple years ago (ran her whole life) so she stopped running and started using bikes at the gym and loved it. So that's why she wants a Peloton.

She wants to use the Peloton for the yoga classes too.

I think I know her

Latte with an extra shot is under $7. Still a lot but not $10.

I'm not sure why I drink Starbucks to be honest. I've had their coffee before but really only buy pumpkin spice lattes when they are in season. Other than that I'm not exactly a huge fan.

I think you can get a cup of coffee at starbucks for like $5. Latte is $10.

If you spend more than $10 on one person for food and drinks at Starbucks you are a fatass

Get a real bike + smart trainer. Lookup wahoo kickr or tacx. This way, when the kids get older, she might want to get out and ride. The best solution.

I just wonder how many people actually use these things long term. I know there must be a few, but I bet 99% of these things end up being expensive den sculptures. Most people I know who stay in shape for years do so by running, walking, cycling outdoors several days a week.

i know plenty of women and even men who do spin class, well used to do spin class. Home fitness is the where the future lies, especially with covid. Interactive Group Fitness like this is the new group classes of the future.

Peloton gives you the spin class expierence from home. Actually better cause you can compare to the other people in real time. Has winners for each class etc. Allows people to compete.

Everyone I know tha has had a Peloton for atleast a year, uses it mutiple times a week still.

Yeah everyone I knew who actually has a Peloton tends to use it a lot, which to me means the bike must be good quality and the classes fun/exciting enough to keep going back.

People just took the money they were spending on gym memberships and the cycle bars and yoga studios and spent it here, which isn’t a bad thing.

It holds its value so well even if you end up not liking it you can throw it on Facebook marketplace and it will have only “cost” you a couple hundred bucks

Depending on where you live, frick that. Not even taking into account the weather, the shitty aggressive drivers and lack of safe places to bike makes this a non starter.

I think the interactive nature and data provided on all these new work out at home machines helps keep people motivated

obviously there are plenty of people that buy work out stuff and never use them

high end bikes are always on sale online

gyms stay open due to all the inactive members

etc
