Y’all ever have that problem?

I’m at 270 grams/day on a 3300 cal/day diet which for me means a lot of shakes.

One more week until I go on a cut- my gains have been really good- benching for reps 225 at 45 years old.

But HOLY BABY JESUS- it feels like I have to fart and run to the pot all the time since we amp’ed my calories and protein up so much.

When I meal prep this weekend- I think I’m going to try to cook enough steak to get me off of the whey for a week- but that’s A LOT of meat!

How much do you weigh? That’s a lot of protein

Protein from any source can cause intestinal issues. 270g/day is a lot. Like...probably too much unless you’re just a large, tall guy.

I could also see the whey protein causing issues if you’re lactose intolerant or sensitive to it and using milk or yogurt with the protein powder.

But ultimately, I’d cut back on protein to .8g/body weight and see if that helps. If no issues, add a little more for a week and build back up slowly. You might find your protein limit that way.

6’0”, 235lbs

I’ve struggled with being fluffy my
whole life- I started to work with a trainer from Calgary and she recommended/insisted that we reverse diet.

I have a super active life and for the last 15-20 years, I would get down to about 200, with tons of cardio- think triathlons- but never felt in shape. This was also sticking to about 2200 calories a day and some days being so busy I would forget to eat.

So, over the last 3 months, we’ve ramped the calories up by about 1000- I gained about 7 pounds, but I have never had strength gains (no shite, huh?) like this in my life.

Buuut- as we ramped up the food- 330g Carbs, 270g Protein, 98g Fat….all I want to do is fart and run to the bathroom.

You need to be worried about losing weight, not being able to bench 225 8 times.

a reverse diet is a strategy to speed your metabolism back up after long periods of dieting. you slowly add a set number of calories to your daily intake each week until you get back up to a reasonable maintenance level.

i do one after every cut and it has been very beneficial to me.

You're not getting the full benefits of the protein if you can't digest it properly. Try a different type if you have dairy issues or cut back. You probably don't really need 270g a day

Im certainly not as fat as you.

Is benching 95% bodyweight "for reps" supposed to be impressive now?

Too much protein for 235lbs
Switch to whey isolate
Spread your protein out at about ~40grams/meal of protein
Maybe take some lactose pills

Check my math, but 225/235 is 95.7% last time I checked.
