The first 24 hours are spent burning off the last meal. So it’s really about 48 hours of not eating on an empty stomach. So really about 29 percent of the week.

You kinda make me want to try this. The jealous haters do too. You can still drink beer right?

board regulars don't believe in fasting.
*I would add in some sort of electrolyte supplement day 2 and 3 if you are exercising.

How have you only lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks?
I thought this too. What do you eat when you’re not fasting? Seems like weight loss should be more IMO.

Just like a normal person who is not on a diet.

Not a fan of fasting. I would rather keep my body fueled with proper nutrition.
That being said, glad you like it. Keep doing it if it works for you.

All of this sounds crazy to me. I'd go see a dr about it and at least get some vitals run then see how these change over time. Could turn out that this is really good for you or could turn out that this is a disaster.
I would expect this to wreck your metabolism at best, and perhaps cause bone density loss and hormone imbalances, but this is all a guess on my part.

Well I guess I got what I asked for which was opinions. Thanks everyone.
Yeah but after 6 weeks I can assure you the only thing I’ve lost is fat. My workouts are stronger than before because of the weight loss.
I don’t need a doctor of any kind.

Boils down to caloric intake vs caloric burn. Starving self for extended periods just seems to oppose human physiology.
To each their own, if it works for you good on you.
Makes me curious about the efficacy of starvation in sustaining good health and fitness results. I now have a homework assignment.

humans aren't built to eat three times a day. think about it. for thousands of years our diet was basically fasting for days surviving on nuts or berries and maybe having some protein once or twice a week.

It’s certainly one way to cut back on inflated grocery prices

I just completed the 7th week in a row of a 72 hour fast. I feel great!

What was human life expectancy during those thousands of years?

I don't know if going on weekly 3 day fasts is really the answer for optimal health though. Maybe every couple months do a long fast if you think it will help reboot you so to speak. But I'm convinced there is a better way to achieve optimal health in the era of food abundance
