Is it better to mix in some cable exercises or just all free weights?

Curls. You can use an EZ bar, a dumbbell or a cable stack.

I like doing drop sets with the rope on the cable at the end of my bicep workouts. Start with the full stack and do about 6 burnout drop sets.

Sandbag cleans are good too. For curls, I tend to use bloodflow restriction.

Pull-ups using both grips should be #1.

Iso movements like ez curl bar curls, straight bar curls and DB curls behind pull-ups.

Yep

#1 weighted chins
#2 weighted neutral grip chins-
#3 legless rope climbs
#4 strong man carries
#5 curls either using progressive overload and getting strong as frick on them or using bfr. I haven't seen many people able to strictly curl 135lbs for 10 reps that have small arms.

I’m gonna going to say some mod of chin ups or pull ups. I never work our biceps, although I do a lot of pull ups, and mine have developed nicely through the years

Barbell Curls with a major focus on the negative and maximum time under tension in the 10-12 rep range to target the outer head

No Money Curls are good for the inner head

I think barbell curls are amazing for that. Sadly it destroys my wrists so I have to do hammer curls.

Overhead cable curls, you feel stupid doing them, but a guy that used to work at the plant with me showed me them and its a serious contraction, just have to get a feel for it.
