I'm in the market for a new hydration pack. Something lightweight. I've been using the Nathan pack for a while, but it is too bulky.

What do yall use?

my crew uses the nathans with the little flasks. just more lightweight than a camelback.

back in 2019 at my last trail race, i ran with a camelback and my friends ran with the flask belt.

at mile 13/16, i would have just dropped the backpack because it was killing my shoulders and back and then circled back and pick it up if it was a road race. my friends that ran in the belts said that they would have killed to have had a backpack for more water at the end.

I'm considering this. I honestly find the pack to get uncomfortable after awhile, like you mentioned, but I need some capacity.

thus the catch-22.

i don't think there's really a happy medium on it unfortunately.

I have a Nathan Vapor Air 2.0 and it’s about as light as you can get for a pack with a flask. However, I prefer to run with back naked and I only use handhelds. 2-20oz handhelds got me through the 100-miler I did this past weekend!

I have an Orange Mud with a single bottle on the back. You could fit a small bottle in the front pockets if needed.

I have the salomon adv skin 12 and run with it everywhere even short runs now. I'm addicted to it. I don't feel it. For longer runs I fill up the too auxiliary bladders. I basically run like a pack mule these days anyway.

Same man, I damn near wear mine walking to the mailbox.

It doesnt bother me and I love being able to just bend my head down and get some water.

I use the amphipod 12 Oz and sometimes 20 Oz handheld flask. I've used some cheapo brand pack once from Amazon. Packs aren't for me unless absolutely necessary for super long runs.
