Thanks. The geometry of our bikes appears to be quite different as well as I’m sure you’re taller than me, so your seat is higher. My Varia is alot closer to the top of the tire. I’m gonna go for a ride with the Varia and see if the tire obstructs it. I just unboxed it yesterday.

I think we're in the same boat. My saddle bag would prevent any kind of meaningful light mounting on the seatpost. Following.

I hit the levee for some intervals this afternoon and threw the Varia on just to see what it would do & it was picking up cars on the road below. No tire obstruction it seems. Seamless integration with the Edge 830. Still not fond of the saddlebag look though.

You still have some room to put that varia a little lower on the seat post. I think you might have the mount flipped upside down too. Cant tell if its upside down or the side pack is sitting on it and tilting it down some

My front and rear derailleur are giving me hell. Anyone ever used The Bike Path in Mandeville? Might bring it by after work and get a tune up because I'm not wrenching on it myself

On my mountain bike I use a granite strap which is made to hold a tube to your frame, well actually pretty uch anywhere you can run a strap through/around. Mine has a tube and a couple of CO2s. I also carry a OneUp pump housing their EDC tools. Pump head unscrews and can double as a CO2 inflator.

My son's setup has everything in the strap. We use a Leyzne inflator that also doubles as CO2 storage. Multi tool is wrapped up in the tube. Throw in some tire levers and he has most everything he needs. Pretty much any free space on the bike you can strap it to. Mountain bikes with droppers don't work well with seat bags. I unstrapped his so you can see the inside of the strap has a rubberized area that keeps it from sliding around your frame. It stays nice and secure.

There are way smaller saddle bags that you can use. I will get you the brand of mine when I get home.

Scicon 210

I can fit a tube, 16g co2, and valve for the Co2. I also use to keep tyre levers in there but got some bigger ones that go in my jersey pocket

I am thinking of trying this bottle out. Might be a failed gimmick but worth a shot. It says they offer 10 and 16oz hydration sizes.

Cool, definitely open to new, smaller options. Like the one gmrkr5 posted above, but not sure how much smaller it would be. The Specialized Road Bandit looks like a viable option, but would have to carry multi tool in jersey, which isn't a huge deal.

Just boring local riding here.

Yeah, that thing looks like a beast. Can we expect Lance and George to be talking about you on the leaderboard in a couple days? haha

yea it's gonna hurt.. haha i dont know about that. gonna go for a good time but there are a couple dudes posting 15ish minute times the last couple days. i'll be happy to do it in the 18-19min range but i dont know. the majority of my climbing is on the road so this being gravel will be interesting
