I had a great 21 miler this morning. Averaged 17.5. 17 was my goal. It helps my friend who could easily average 20-21 was essentially pulling me along.

Any of you guys ever stop at the farmer's market right past the Luling Bridge?

Just stopped for a peach and a pastry and it absolutely made my ride.

Bit the bullet and bought an Allez sport. I’m all limbs so I sized down. It is amazing what a light, well fitting bike does for you. My old shitty (super heavy) bike was so frustrating that I stopped riding it. I forgot how fun riding a 2 wheeler could be.

I can't find you on Strava anymore, Burt. I'm sure those hills where you live are hellacious on the bike.

Awesome. Indeed it is.

I have my fit scheduled for early August. Gonna hold off on getting a power meter/pedals until I do that.

Would anyone be interested in a cycling Strava group? We have a pretty big one with the TD running crew and I think we've all found it useful. Let me know in here and I'll set it up.

TA, I’m set to private now on Strava which is funny because I’m a mod on the TD run group. The hills are rolling so it’s manageable. More fun to ride than run for sure tho. Hell, this morning I ran 17 miserable miles and rode 14 effortless miles.

I did forget to mention that it took less than 24 hours for some fat b to park diagonal among the trail while coming around a bend. So now my brand new bike is less than new cause I had to hard break and went over the bars. I fricking hate NWA. I hate it. Everyone is so far up their own arse that they have no situational awareness.

Ha you shoulda see the greenways up here…. Straight up cluster frick. I dont go near them. The state park we ride gravel in gets crowded with trail runners sometimes…. I swear some of them hear “ON YOUR LEFT!!” And they think that means make an immediate u turn in the middle of the road to your left…. Idiots

I pretty much have to give a speech when I overtake someone here. "coming up on your left, on your LEFT"

I’ll set it up soon, likely tomorrow.

All this damn rain gonna make me buy a trainer.

my kickr has become an integral part of my training routine. i originally bought it when we moved up here for off-season/winter but i ride it at least 3 times a week year round now. believe me, i'd rather be outside any day but the convenience of being able to walk down the hall and do a quick warmup and bang out an hour or so of intervals has helped me get stronger than i ever did training outside only.

you guys find the kickr to be that much better than going to the local gym and cycling/spin class?

Never done spin classes but Zwift and a smart trainer with climber are pretty appealing to me.
