I have a friend bragging about recently joining. As an alpha, I've never thought about stepping foot in planet fitness. What about planet fitness is drawing my beta friend in?

It's a gym for $10 a month. If you want to spend more, go to another gym.

They are really cheap to join.
1/5 of what my last gym cost.

It’s a cheap gym, lots of equipment, and judgement free zone bro.

They are really cheap which means you will continue to pay, but will likely not go very often.

I have a membership and I use it occasionally for cardio. For $10 a month, i have no complaints

It's cheap. They have a reasonable amount of equipment in there but nothing great and not close to what you'd get at a top notch gym.

With cheap rates comes trashy members.

If someone wanted nothing but cardio, weight machines, dumbells, and a multipurpose cable setup then it's hard to beat $10 or so a month. And if someone wants to tan or sit in massage chairs, the rate is like 20 per month. So, I see the appeal, but for most people that even somewhat take it seriously, it will be lacking in equipment.

It's a very non-social place. Great if you're looking to just do your business and go home. Nobody is there to be seen at a gym.

You can have all the machines you want. At end of day machines are garbage. If a person is serious about fitness they'll stick to barbells (which Planet Fitness) doesn't have, or dumbbells of which they are seriously limited.

isn't PF the gym that rings a bell or something if people are making noise?

This is because I enjoy trying to lift the heaviest things possible.

Planet Fitness is like entering a lifelong commitment to an attractive woman who will give you a handjob any time you want it, but never anything other than a handjob.

Congratulations on taking the cheap, easy route that will always leave you wanting more.

It's a pseudo gym that advertises themselves as a "judgement free zone", but they make fun of fit people, bodybuilders and power lifters... so go figure

$10 for unlimited free pizza 4 times a month and free tootsie rolls seems like a pretty good deal not even considering the gym
